Soft Palate Soreness
I have long white areas on both side of soft palate. Sore throat. Candidiasis? I recently had a lichen keratosis.
Maybe, maybe not!: White patches in the mouth and throat can be thrush, or they can be due to strep, or other things, too. I think I have a soft palate canker sore in the back of my throat, it hard to put an ointment on it cause its so far back. How do it treat this?
Mouth rinse: Unfortunately there are no good remedies for canker sores and causes are often unknown. The best treatments are usually just to treat pain, not to cure the sore. My personal favorite is what most call magic mouthwash. It is 1/3 Benadryl (to reduce inflammation), 1/3 viscous Lidocaine (to reduce pain), and 1/3 maalox (to make it stick). You rinse and spit or swallow. Ask your dentist about it. ...Read moreGet help from a doctor now ›

Normal cold sore virus is herpes simplex. They hurt but should resolve in 7 to 10 days. Other types of infection are possible and should be ruled out with a detailed personal lifestyle and medical history by a physician. ...Read moreGet help from a doctor now ›

My soft palate is really sore but there doesn't appear to be any canker or cold sores. It has been like this for 3 days. What could this be?
Many possibilities.: Palatal irritation can be caused by burns from to hot liquids or hot pizza & the like. Other causes are smoking, acidic foods such as citrus fruits, pineapple, etc. Stomach acids from bulemia & gerd is another possibility. Avoid these foods, rinse frequently with warm salt water and call your dentist if it is not better in 14 days! it could be something more serious. ...Read moreGet help from a doctor now ›
