I have a blue lump on my buttocks. It doesn't hurt but i've had it for a couple of years. Should've worried?

Hemangioma: A blue lump can be several things and should be examined by a plastic surgeon or dermatologist, especially if it has grown or changed in any way. It could be a tumor of blood vessels, a lipoma (fatty tumor), or even a large mole. Have it looked at for your peace of mind. Be well, dr. Fred. ...Read more

Can lump on the cheek of the buttocks be serious?

Can lump on the cheek of the buttocks be serious?

Gluteal lump: My best gress is that this is herpes simplex. It usually last a few weeks then clears but may leave a pigmented scar. It does recur however and can be contageous. There is a simple blood test to rule out herpes, which needs to be done and there is treatment to supress the lump and symptoms that may be present. In the meantime, topical ice may he helpful. Also your consort may need to be checked. ...Read more

The only: way to know is to see a doctor, examining the lesion is the most important part of diagnosis but if I want to take a guess I would say you have an infected Pilonidal cyst which is a pile of ingrown hair. ...Read more

Probable lipoma: What you are describing sounds like a very common and usually totally innocent lumbosacral lipoma. You should have it checked by your primary care provider who can refer you to a surgeon if there is any concern. These can usually be removed easily as an outpatient under local anesthesia. ...Read more

Epidermoid cyst: This benign cyst, aka epidermal inclusion cyst, is the most common skin cyst. It typically occurs in areas of little/no hair, such as you describe, though it originates from hair follicle. It is usually filled with malodorous "cheese like" material. Rarely they become inflamed/infected. They don't require treatment; if inflamed a doctor may inject trimancinolone (a steroid) or surgically remove ...Read more

I have a lump on my lower back above the buttocks, is cancer ? Its painless, im really worried

Probably not: It depends on your age and exact other symptoms. Pilonidal cysts are quite common in this location, but they usually have hair or drainage associated with them. Is it a mass? Is it soft and pliable? Could be a lipoma. If it is hard, irregular borders, and immobile, that is more concerning. Probably should get it looked at. ...Read more
