Lump on back of head: For how long? Did it change in size?, and is painless.
Requires an MRI, interpretation, how is the hair on top of the mass?
Probably is a benign mass, however the input and examination, even a biopsy may be required. I cannot touch or feel it.

If you feel around you should find several the size of a pea ; sometimes bigger. They can increase to the size of a big peanut if stimulated by local factors, illness or vaccines. Enlarged: Lymph nodes in that area are generally from SCALP sores which when scratched ca become infected! However, the SKULL often has raised areas which are NORMAL!! Sounds like you need a definite answer and this could involve xrays. If it is a lymph node and persists WITHOUT "simple" explanation a biopsy would be indicated!

This is a projection of the skull where many of the jaw muscles are anchored. There are a variety of lymph nodes located all over the head and neck, but these tend not to be hard.
