Soft Lump On Back Of Hand
I have a lump on the back of my hand sort of in the middle. It causes some pain when I bend my hand down. What should I do?
Ganglionic Cyst: It is most likely a ganglionic cyst or synovial cyst. These are mobile and compressible, like a ball with air in it, not hard like a rock. Please see your primary care physician for diagnosis and treatment. Corticosteroid injections can shrink it. If you rest your hand and the pain doesn't improve, you may need an orthopedic hand specialist's opinion.
I have these small skin coloured lumps on the back of my hands they are painless not itchy it started about 8years ago with just a few now I have lots?

? cyst: It is possible you have a ganglion cyst. If it is painful you should see your doctor to have it evaluated.
Ganglion cyst: You didn't mention pain, just the presence of a strange lump on the back of your wrist. This is a classic presentation for a ganglion cyst which is just fluid collection in a pocket of joint lining or synovium. These are benign & don't spread. They can be aspirated (fluid is very thick) or we can poke a bunch of holes in cyst and let it drain on its own. Sometimes we just drop a book to break it!
Have a small lump of about 7x4mm on back of hand for 4 wks. It grew in size for 2.5wks then started to shrink. What condition is it? Is it lymphoma?
? ganglion cyst: The most common lump that people get on the back of the hand is a ganglion cyst. It is caused when a bit of the synovium (lining of the joint) pops out in a joint space. They are benign and usually go away on their own. This is not a typical presentation for lymphoma. If you are anxious about it have your doctor take a look.
I have a small cluster of strange lumps on the back of my head, all on the right hand side. A few of these are painful, but the largest of them isnt?
Head lumps: Hello ~ difficult to give you an exact diagnosis because you do not give enough history. These could be lymph nodes if they are pea-sized or they could be lipomas. This is one of those things we cannot give you and exact diagnosis unless we can see and palpate the lumps. I think a trip to the local NHS doc is in the offing? Thanks
Most likely benign: The majority of painless lumps on the back of the hand are usually benign. One possibility is a ganglion cyst might have formed. No matter the etiology of the painless lump this should be evaluated by a physician to determine the location of the lump. Some benign masses on the hand may cause weakness or limitations of the joint.See 1 more doctor answer

I have a lump on the back of my hand. It is red, burns and is painful if touched. It is the size of a dime. Is there anything I can do?
See doc: Unfortunately, without seeing or feeling it, it is like poking in the air. It may be infected if it is red and painful, so don't delay, see your doc.
I have noticed a lump next to the right hand side of my spine, is this anything to worry about? I'm a dancer and I cant even do a backbend anymore
Yes: This lump may have many causes. Please see a doctor for an exam. Also the spine may not be moving as needed. This needs to be checked.
I went to the doctors about a lump on the back on my hand, she told me it was a ganglion but she didn't tell me how I could ease any pain. Any advise?
Ganglion cyst hand: Wear a splint to decrease use, PO anti inflammatory meds. If still an issue than seek surgical removal...
Recently, I have just noticed a bump/lump on the back of my hand/wrist. It's been itchy since last night. Is this anything to worry about?
Ganglion--no problem: Most likely, this is a ganglion, which is a fluid filled cyst. It is very common and usually is left alone. If it continues to cause pain or symptoms it can be aspirated (fluid sucked out), ruptured (usually injected with numbing medication and steroid to cause it to rupture), or removed surgically. These have approximate long term success rates of 60%, 85%, and 95%, respectively.
I had something fall on the back of my hand maybe a inch from my index knuckle. There has been a big painful lump there. Any reason for concern?
I have a hard lump on the back of right hand, it moves easily but feels as hard as a bone. It also is bigger than a pea.
Probable ganglion: Based on your description and the location of the lump, you probably have a ganglion cyst, however this diagnosis can only be made after a physical exam. I would recommend confirming this with your doctor! Ganglion cysts are fairly common, and do not constitute an emergency, so a routine Dr's visit would suffice!
I just noticed a lump on the back of my hand in the vein that's near my middle knuckle. Kind of painful. Should I be worried?
Lump on hand: Please don't be worried but do see your doctor. It MAY be a ganglion cyst which can be treated easily. Peace and good health.
I have 2 lumps on back of hand looks like they are in veins I had an Iv in when I was in hospital when I touch them they move
May be: A thrombophlebitis, which is a blood clot in a vein with associated inflammation. It often happens the sites of peripheral IVs. Often you can get away with just treating these with elevation of the site and warm compresses. If it's painful, you can utilize nonsteroidals like ibuprofen, but only if you have no reason to avoid NSAIDs. I would still review this with your doctor too.See 1 more doctor answer
