Better?: Both medications are classified as opioid analgesics meaning they are derived from opium. Ms contin (morphine) is an extended release formulation indicated for constant, chronic pain. These medications should only be prescribed for severe pain. The longterm use of these medications is controversial and should be done under the direction of a qualified physician. ...Read more
Normal dose: There is no such thing as a normal dose. There is a notion of "clinically accepted dosing" but this also variable. The correct way to look at this - is this dose effective - if yes then its fine, if no they it needs to be adjusted. ...Read more
No: It's the other way around - oxycodone is 3 to 5 times more potent than morphine, but in equipotent doses, they have the equivalent effect. "strength" is not a characteristic that means better or worse, it's the size of the pill or the shot. When drugs are given in equivalent doses, they work about the same, although there are individual differences in side effects and other characteristics. ...Read more
OxyContin: Oc (extended release oxycodone) is stonger by a factor of almost twice-that is 15 mg of oc is about equal to 30 mg of MS contin (extended release morphine sulphate). But there is a lot of variability between individuals. Oc seems to be more energizing for some patients and as a result there is more "liking" which is independent of the pain relief. That may explain why there seems to be more abuse. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Prescribed adderal ir 30mg 3x day & neurontin (gabapentin) 1200 mg (nerve damage) can I take neurontin (gabapentin) at night as one dose? Does neurontin (gabapentin) effect adderall working
Clarification: Neurontin does not interact with most drugs and will not affect your Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine). If the answer is no, then stop Advil as it's also requiring use of Prevacid (lansoprazole) which will not minimize renal risk. Since many take NSAIDs for arthritic pain there are topical options including Lidocaine.Voltaren, however is a topical NSAID option ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Taking tramadol/soma (carisoprodol) combo helps my pain/burning from radiculopathy more than anything. Only take 1 Soma (carisoprodol) at bedtime. Why won't neuro prescribe soma (carisoprodol)?
Soma+Tram=Bad Idea: Seizures are one of the most important & dangerous side effects of Tramadol & Soma (carisoprodol). Take both together & cross your fingers.
