If I have a blood test tomorrow morning and I smoked marijuana tonight would it show up? They're testing hemoglobin, mono, tsh, lyme, cmp, sed rate
Probably not: Most drug screening tests are urinalysis. Although blood tests can be done they are much more expensive. It sounds like your labs have been ordered to work up specific symptoms, to better help you physician make a clinical diagnosis. I am very skeptical that a thc level would be included in this type of workup. Hopefully you live in a pot legal state.....Otherwise, be careful! ...Read more

Mostly the marijuana: Cannabis is a psychoactive drug, and many people, especially those with underlying anxiety, social phobias and other problems may have a bad response to using it. Some people have panic attacks precipitated, and some people literally have "bad trips" with hallucinations, delusions, paranoia etc. Sometimes it is also cut with other drugs, including angel dust (PCP or phencyclidine) or synthetics. ...Read more
Maybe, maybe not: Some studies have shown decreases in the amount of semen, abnormal swimming in sperm, lower testosterone levels, and higher estrogen levels in marijuana users. The studies are not big, so more research is needed. Smoking (inhaling smoke, which is full of lung irritants and cancer-causing chemicals) of any kind is unhealthy, but it is unknown if mj users actually have fewer children than non-users. ...Read more
The simplest answer : Is that most people who use marijuana become much less motivated. We can debate the long term effects of marijuana and other meds. This does not mean that one time use will cause school failure, but with regular use motivation drops. If your son is using, a consult with a counselor would be a good idea to help you and him to see what is the best way forward and other academic problems. ...Read more
Cannabis and hunger:
One of the main reasons that cannabis is used for medical purposes is what it does to a human's gastrointestinal tract and the natural stimulation it gives to hunger.

Probably not.: To be clear, I am not an advocate at all for marijuana use. That said, a literature search confirmed my impression that the likelihood of it causing death is slim to none. One source cited 5 marijuana-related deaths in great britain over a 2-year period, but the proximal cause was inhaled vomit. That said, chronic, heavy use of marijuana is associated with a variety of negative outcomes. ...Read more
Not known: Although marijuana is legal in only some states, it is widely used. When using marijuana that is not regulated, its impact on various medical conditions cannot be determined with any certainty. This is because the marijuana plant consists of many cannabinoids other than THC. THC is the primary ingredient that causes the psychological effects of well-being. FDA approval is limited at present. ...Read more
Many issues: Certainly marijuana use can interfere with hormonal development and brain development. However, in my opinion, the biggest risk is that teens who smoke pot often move on to more significant drug use with other illicit drugs. There is also a higher risk of death/injury due to accidents. ...Read more
All pros: Vaporizing marijuana releases the medicinally active cannabinoids without burning the plant releasing toxic byproducts of combustion that can be respiratory irritants. Basically there are many pros and no significant cons, though some people don't find it as satisfying at first. See http://www.Canorml. Org/health/vaporizers and http://www.Recoverytoday. Polycythemia: Smoking anything deprives the body of oxygen and stimulates production of more red cells in compensation. Your doctor can order a carboxyhemoglobin level to see if this is an issue for you. There are numerous other causes of polycythemia: sleep apnea, benign and malignant tumors, and a bone marrow condition known as polycythemia vera. A high red cell count should be evaluated by a hematologist. ...Read more

May be anti-aging if:
There is evidence that marijuana can have powerful anti-aging properties, esp, for the brain but also the skin, but many of those benefits might be counteracted by smoking it. Using it in oral preparations or via vaporizer will maximize its anti-aging benefits while minimizing toxins from burning it. See http://tinyurl.com/nnn2nv9
