Smoking Marijuana After Heart Bypass
Can smoking marijuana and taking paroxetine simultaneously stop your heart, or in any way effect your heart? Read some study...
MJ increases Paxil (paroxetine): My understanding is it would be unlikely for combination of Paxil (paroxetine) ; marijuana to cause a normal heart to stop, but rapid heart rate (occasional effect of paxil) might be more likely due to marijuana inhibition of the liver enzyme that metabolizes paxil, thus causing an increased level of Paxil and a concomitant increase in all effects from paxil. Would discuss with Paxil prescriber.See 1 more doctor answer
Read that study show u can get heart attack smoking marijuana. Should I worry about it when hr is in 100-120 region? Now I think the heart will stop??
Tachycardia: You seem to have an elevated heart rate, called tachycardia. You are young though. Are you healthy? You have had an echocardiogram, and an EKG? Marijuana may not be a great risk for heart attacks, like cigarette smoking is. It is not without its dangers, as you are starting to think about. Be thoughtful about the substances you use and their effects.
Increases HR: Marijuana use increases heart rate by 20%-100%, shortly after smoking. Marijuana users have 4.8 times greater chance of heart attack in the first hour after smoking. It causes palpitations & arhythmias as well as elevation of actual heart rate. Http://www. Ncbi. Nlm. Nih. Gov/pubmed/11401936.See 1 more doctor answer
Yes: In general, given the dependence of the heart on the pulmonary system any smoking will inevitably damage the lungs which will negatively affect the heart...At least to some degree. This is why it is called "cardiopulmonary disease." strictly speaking, the degree to which it would be harmful would ultimately depend on the type of "heart problem.".See 1 more doctor answer
Try it: There's only one way to find out.
Unknown. Probabl not: To my knowledge there are no studies of long term marijuana consumption on the cardiac structures. If you have repaired tof then the effect should not be much different from someone without heart disease. But best to avoid any form of smoking or drug intake.See 1 more doctor answer
Heart transplant: You will be looking for a new heart soon! Do not smoke pot its bad for you.
A month ago I went to the ER from quitting smoking synthetic marijuana but my heart still races every once in awhile is this normal for how long?
No one knows: "synthetic marijuana" contains very toxic chemicals that haven't been studied or approved for safety & is much more hazardous than real marijuana. It's ridiculous that it's legal in many places where marijuana is not! Thus, no one can answer your question. Some of the toxins may be stored in your fat so taking saunas & chlorella may help you detox.Magnesium, taurine & hawthorne may help palpitations.
If marijuana increases the risk of getting arryhtmias and heart attack, do u think beta blockers would decrease the risk while smoking? Anwer honestly
Had heart surgery, 2 months ago. Will it harm me if I inhale second hand smoke from tabacco cigerattes or someone smoking marijuana next to me?

Can I smoke marijuana a few days after a anxiety/panic attack? 2 days ago I had a panic attack while smoking marijuana. I went to the hospital out of fear that it was a heart attack. I had an EKG done, chest x-rays and blood work and the results came back
Probably NOT!: There are two major classes of psychoactive ingredients identified in mj: thc which induces hallucinatons and euphoria or dysphoria/panic--being stoned. Cannabinoids which are not intoxicating and which may aid focus and pain relief. Current cultivation of high thc plants has given rise to greater anxiety/panic/paranoia and psychosis in susceptible persons. Negative circumstances can contribute.See 1 more doctor answer
Answer: You just underwent a significant cardiac surgery, and now at almost 2 months, you wish to use marijuana? Have you discussed this with your cardiologist or even personal doctor? My advice is to avoid any extraneous substances until your doctor gives blessing and provides a "green light". You absolutely should avoid until permission given.See 1 more doctor answer
Heart palpitations from smoking, could it be different for everyone or could it be that my body has gotten use to the use of cannabis?
After smoking/eating/vaporizing in that order cannabis since 24 - now at 50 my heart rhythm is too fast - how do I "heal" my heart - cessation, exerci?
Heart too fast: Recommendations: 1) stop cannabis. This is reminiscent of the old advice, "if you find yourself in a hole, the first thing is to stop digging." 2) get help if you can't stop it. 3) see your doctor pronto. 4) would not start exercise without physician oversight. (ultimately, exercise is a good idea - just not with a pre-existing rapid heart rate unless medically cleared) good luck!See 2 more doctor answers
Worried I will get a heart attack while smoking cannabis. My heart is fine but I take metoprolol for tachycardia. What would it take for heart attack?
Don't Self medicate!: I presume if your holter was normal your metoprolol is to reduce frequency of panic attacks? Your anxiety is not being treated properly and my concern is that you are "self medicating" for your underlying condition. (anxiety) Also cannabis can trigger anxiety, paranoia and psychosis! Please seek mental health help!See 1 more doctor answer
Many reasons: Healing after surgery is markedly impaired by smoking, which constricts the blood vessels that supply us with oxygen and nutrients. Heart bypass is done because of arteriosclerosis, or "hardening of the arteries, " so when you keep smoking, the new vessels in your heart begin the same process of narrowing down until they don't carry blood, resulting in new heart attacks. Also damages lungs&rest of u.See 2 more doctor answers
Indeed: If you are a competent adult you have exclusive homestead rights over your body. If you decide to continue to harm yourself, in full realiazation that doing so may hasten your demise, then it's on you. This is a charged question, bordering on assisted suicide concerns. Your doctor can rightfully disagree with you, & should, but ultimately it's your life - your decision.
