Bupropion : Bupropion (wellbutrin ) was developed and initially introduced in the United States as an antidepressant but was subsequently noted to reduce the desire to smoke cigarettes and shown in clinical trials to be effective in smoking cessation.It works best along with intensive behavioral support. Approximately 1 week of treatment is required to achieve steady-state blood levels of bupropion and treatment is typically continued for anywhere between 8 - 12 weeks. Hypnotherapy, group therapy, and acupuncture are also available. Consider seeing a psychologist. Sometimes people have to get creative to devise a strategy to quit.
