Steroid use: Yes, long term steroids can cause a lot of potential problems. It is helpful for a lot of medical conditions, but you want to get off of it if you possibly can. They do decrease swelling, but they also suppress your immune system, so you are at increased risk for contracting infections of all sorts. You can have significant water gain, weight gain, cataracts or even avascular hip necrosis. ...Read more

I am bulimic and smoke, what are the possible side effects these 2 things put together can cause?

Up in smoke: The metabolic imbalances (low potassium) from purging lend to cardiac rhythm disturbance. Smoking can cause at least temporary tachycardia - speeding up heart rate - and may initiate coronary and other artery spasm or narrowing. Low weight provides for more demands on the heart as well. The synergism of the two can lend to overall compromise - diminished immune function, heightened risk of illness. ...Read more

What side effects does secondhand majuina smoke have on babies?

What side effects does secondhand majuina smoke have on babies?

Hasn't been studied: Children living in homes where second-hand cigarette smoke is present have a higher incidence of upper respiratory infections, sinus problems and asthma, and get pneumonia more often as well. It is very possible the same thing occurs with marijuana smoke, but i can find no studies. It is not a good idea, and if one must smoke, it should be outside the home, on a porch or balcony, or another room. ...Read more

Friend breastf her 3m old smokes weed. What are the negative side effects & if she does smoke how long should I tell her not to breastf for?

NO Smoking: It is harmful, so just refraining alone will not cut. it. Living in that environment is harmful too. She should get some counselling and rehab. Sorry but partial help will not change the core drug seeking behavuior, esp. when a even the baby does not deter such behavior. ...Read more

I am feeling side effects from marijuana 24 hours after i smoked. When will this go away ? I am 5'8 130 pounds and the weed was strong.

I am feeling side effects from marijuana 24 hours after i smoked. When will this go away ? I am 5'8 130 pounds and the weed was strong.

Up to few more days: Thc, the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana, has a half-life of 2-10 days depending on the amount smoked. If the half-life is 3 days that means it will take 3 days for half of it to leave your system & 6 days for 3/4 of it to be eliminated. Despite this most people only feel effects for several hours after smoking. The effects will lessen day by day. Sounds like this is not a good herb for you. ...Read more

What are the side effects of smoking weed and cigarettes but taking a break from weed and start to smoke cigarettes more ?

What are the side effects of smoking weed and cigarettes but taking a break from weed and start to smoke cigarettes more ?

Respiratory/heart: Neither is good to use, so taking "a break" from both would have the side effect of better health. Smoking tobacco or weed creates the same dilemma for lung health -inhaling partially combusted botanical material laced with chemicals. Equally, cardiovascular health is compromised by using either. Infections occur more frequently in smokers too. So quit both & try not to rationalize their use. ...Read more

I've bought a nicotine free vapour pen, like an electronic cigaret, but without the smoke and nicotine, is it safe? Are there any side effects?

Check out these: Links. Definitely it's safer than inhaling nicotine but we can never be sure about the long term effects of inhaling vapor. Theoretically inhaling vapor for a long period of time can cause lung inflammation and scarring. Bipolar meds have so many side effects. wouldn't it be better 2 smoke marijuana as bi polar people tell me they feel better than the meds? Is it harmful

DONT THINK SO: I have no idea what the long term effects are - possibly including psychosis. The goal should be to have as stable a life as possible and i doubt that pot will do that. Properly balanced meds and real support can help a whole lot. Very hard to live a productive life by being happy and out of it - and depressive and manic phases are most likely to recur anyway. Not the best solution. ...Read more
