Need more info: How deep is the wound.? How old is the wound? Where is it located? Must keep the wound clean. To minimize visible scarring need to see a doctor to see if it can be closed with fine sutures or surgical glue. If it is more than 24-48 hrs old then may have to allow to close on its own. Keeping it clean is very imporant. ...Read more

Cracked heel: Assuming you are healthy and you have the common simple causes of cracked home care will consist of the following: oil based moisturizer or heel balm, heel cups made of silicon to stop the heel from expanding and keeping moisture in or good closed shoes (at heel) with socks, and keep hydrated. I injured my toe and it won't heal. But it is not ingrown I don't think. I'm not sure what to do or if it will heal on its own. I'd like to send pics ?

I injured my toe and it won't heal. But it is not ingrown I don't think. I'm not sure what to do or if it will heal on its own. I'd like to send pics ?

Feeling Lucky?: There are just a few injuries involving the toes that might be confused with an ingrown toenail. In those circumstances the toe generally heals on it's own. This is based, of course, on the premise that you do not have some underlying medical condition that would impede you healing capability. Using the RICE principle will more than likely be just fine. If you do not feel comfortable, see a doc. ...Read more

If I use two diffrent neosporin ointments will that affect a scar or wound that I apply it to?

Be careful!: I am not a fan as it is well-known that 20% of patients who use neosporin regularly will become allergic to it! applying any of these products to a scar is useless and there are safer products to use on wounds (polysporin (bacitracin and polymyxin) or bacitracin, for example). I really can't think of any reason one would want to apply 2 of these products at once, unless you want an itchy red rash! ...Read more

Had VAVD But stitches resulted in superficial gaping . Plz help will that heal without repair or stitch again?

Had VAVD But stitches resulted in superficial gaping . Plz help will that heal without repair or stitch again?

Probably: Not clear what you mean by gaping, but this area generally heals VERY well if not infected. And it is usually not possible to stitch again. If you are having significant drainage, pain, or fever, you should be seen. Otherwise, apply a warm compress for at least 10 minutes about 6 times a day to give it the best chance of healing. If you can, dry yourself off with a hairdryer on warm setting. ...Read more
