If they are not painful & not growing in size, you can discuss them with your doctor at your next appointment or go earlier if they are enlarging or painful. Lipomas?: You may have one of the genes that gives you dozens of lipomas that pop up over your lifetime. One of my longtime friends has had over 100 excised and has filled several gallon jugs with them. Not an emergency: As a rule of thumb, if a finding is symmetric on both sides of the body, it is very likely to be normal anatomy. Your description is vague, but you are most likely describing part of your paraspinal musculature which runs along both sides of the spine and can often bunch up in knots of lumps which can be tender to pressure. It's extraordinarily unlikely for 2 concerning masses to be symmetric. ...Read more
