Small White Flaky Particles In Urine When Straining
I have white small stringy particles in urine. No symptoms but scared something is wrong. Did a CMP blood test and all was normal. What could it be?
A urine examination would have been more useful than a CMP. Do you have any symptoms? Could it be mucus from your genital tract rather than coming from the urinary bladder?
For good health — Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.
Practice safe sex, if you have sex. ...Read more

Your question is..?: Often small stones break up into sand like particles and you won't see the stone. The severe pain was the stone passing. Once the pain is gone (and doesn't come back), it means the stone has passed into the bladder where it may break up or pass through the urethra which is painless. ...Read more
Strained to empty remaining urine in bladder before bed, when I wiped there was a small faint pink streak of blood. Have I done serious damage?
Strained urination: Are you hear your period? Have you been feeling the need to strain or having incomplete voiding during the day as that may be a sign of urinary tract infection which can cause straining. The probability of significant damage is very low but would check it out to insure no UTI or vaginitis. ...Read more

16 yr boy has to strain a little to pass few drops of urine immwdiately after urination.it occurs on nd off.since 1month?
See answer: Difficult to tell from limited information and absence of an urinalysis what and if a problem at all. Number of limited possibilities: prostate irritation/inflammation, urethral stricture, infection, etc. Though likely nothing serious, because this appears to be both a new problem and one that is intermittently persisting, recommend seeing a physician and preferably a urologist if available. ...Read more
Diagnosed 16 days ago with a 3mm stone at the UVJ. I haven't passed stone and I have been experiencing fluctuating pain on and off for the past few days. Will I be able to pass this stone? I am straining my urine. I have not seen a urologist yet.
My daughter is 3 years old and strains to urinate. Went for a check up today and tested urine and all results were fine. Wondering what to do next?
Common issue: This is an age where tub baths can trigger such behavior due to soapy irritation of the pee hole. These kids slosh around in dirty soapy water for a while and seldom get a proper rinse of their genitals before getting out. The soap film drys and leads to itching/burning during voids. Tub showers with attention to rinsing away any soap from the area can sometimes stop this in a few days ...Read more

Few drops of urine stain my underwear after pee, especially when I strain the abdomen like sitting or squad down after pee. What is the problem?
This is a very common complaint among men, especially as one ages, known as "post-void dribbling and is rarely a sign of a significant problem by itself and almost never addressed with medicine or surgery. Behavior techniques associated with end of voiding can often correct
bad habits which can lead to post-voiding dribbling: relax rather than strain, avoid compression of penis thru pants, etc. ...Read more

Can overactive bladder cause me to strain to get urine out? Im on medication for it. Or will it be the tight bladder neck?

I have CHF & started taking a 5 strain probiotic, since then my urine has a strong odor & comes on suddenly & intensly. Is this an ok side effect?
Urgency: I am not aware of probiotics causing such bladder urgency. The latter is more apt to be due to a bladder infection, diuretics often prescribed in CHF patients, excess caffeine, huge fluid load or simply overactive bladder syndrome. You could temporarily discontinue the probiotic to determine whether it causes urine odor or bladder urgency. Otherwise, discuss this problem with your physician. ...Read more
For the past week, I've had frequent urination. Started after a lower back strain during a workout. Urine test shows no protein and no increased BS.
Needs checked: A back strain cannot cause urinary abnormalities. Either the back strain was not a back strain but rather a renal problem, although there would likely be urine abnormalities. Your are not too young for prostrate problems. Since you mentioned "no increased BS", I expect you are diabetic which can result in eventual renal issues. Needs more thorough investigation ...Read more
Pain on left side below rib, toward back. Had mri, blood work & urine tests, all was ok. 3 weeks later, still pain, doesn't feel like muscle strain.
Quadratus lumborum?: Assuming that your MRI was a normal lumbar mri, that you do not have a rash over the area (shingles), and that workup for a kidney stone was negative, then I would consider the possibility of quadratus lumborum pain. It starts deep in the flank between the hip and ribs, and can radiate to the back or groin. Consider seeing a physiatrist or pain physician to verify. ...Read more

I have dull pain above my hip that wraps around to my back. I went to the doctor and she believes it is a strained muscle. They did test my urine and there is no blood. Do I need to worry?
No: It does sound like your doctor is correct: The pain sounds like it is of musculoskeletal origin. It still might.: High bilirubin can come from hemolysis of red cells, liver damage, or gallstones. So if a lot of your red cells are being destroyed, or you have a liver issue like cirrhosis, or hepatitis, or a history of gallstones, you can have at least some bilirubin in your urine, even if you didn't eat. In fact, not eating might cause it due to the liver using your reserves. If it persists, see your doctor. ...Read more

When I urinate there is a small white cloudy particle in my urine. Looks like a fuzzy or something. No pain. Concerns?
Does small traces of bubbles constitute 'bubbly urine' or does this refer to only urine with large clusters of bubble?
Either one...: Either small or large bubbles on the surface of urine may denote the presence of foamy urine resulting from the speed of urine flow and the degree of protein in urine. Anyone may have foamy urine off and on; if persistent, be evaluated for possible chronic kidney diseases, which comes along with aging, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, chronic drug use like NAISDs or certain antibiotics. ...Read more
