Small Red Itchy Bumps On Pubic Area
I am a 18 year old female. Have small very itchy red bumps on my pubic area. They are not whiteheads. What is this?
I get very bad red itchy bumps after shaving my pubic area which I believe is folliculitis. Should I just pluck the infected hair out?
Folliculitis: You are correct about the folliculitis. However, I don't recommend wasting your time plucking them out individually. If you are going to pluck them you might as well wax and save yourself time. There is no scientific benefit of shaving vs waxing for the removal of hair. Always monitor for infection. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

This is a common precursor to infection. Please visit your doctor because std'd still need to be ruled out. If it is bacterial your doctor may put you on oral antibiotics. It is always best to have a doctor examine you in these types of instances. Good luck. ...Read more

I have a sore throat with small red itchy bumps in my groin area. What could it be? Are they related?
Many possibilities: Hives localized to the inner thighs may be due to multiple causes. The area is warm and one thigh can rub against the other. It can be due to cloth or chemicals in pants, just to give a few examples. Wear non-tight pants; when itchy, apply Sarna with pramoxime. Otherwise, keep dry with cornstarch or talc. Take an antihistamine such as fexofenadine or cetirizine. No help - see your physician. ...Read more
Outbreaks of itchy: red bumps are very common and have many different causes: allergy related hives, especially if you've contacted something new (natural/leaves/plant or artificial/household chemicals). A red itchy rash can go along with being sick (chicken pox/impetigo) or parasites (scabies). Try some OTC cortisone cream and antihistamine for a day or two ... then to Derm if persists. Good wishes:) ...Read more
