Lymph node swelling: This could be a swollen lymph node, which could be infected or swollen because of inflammation or infection on your scalp or ear. It could also be an insect bite. You should have your doctor examine you, so that you can be properly diagnosed and treated.

Need to examine: Where is the lump? How big is it, measured in cm? Do you have fever? It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor.

A small bone hard lump on the of my head. About the size of a dime. It is painful to the touch but not otherwise. Is this a tumor? Or is it benign?

A small bone hard lump on the of my head. About the size of a dime. It is painful to the touch but not otherwise. Is this a tumor? Or is it benign?

Tumor: By definition a tumor is a mass, either benign or malignant. On the top of the head, a lesion the size of a dime falls into the benign group of tumors. It can be a true bony lesion or osteoma, a small fibrous tumor, a dense lipoma or cytst. Malignant tumors here usually ulcerate the skin. If it grows or becomes painful then biopsy is indicated.

Head lumps: Hello ~ difficult to give you an exact diagnosis because you do not give enough history. These could be lymph nodes if they are pea-sized or they could be lipomas. This is one of those things we cannot give you and exact diagnosis unless we can see and palpate the lumps. I think a trip to the local NHS doc is in the offing? Thanks

I have small a little hard non movable lump on the of my head / neck above hairline it does not grow in size not painful its under skin / scalp help?

See MD to b safe: Probably should have it checked out by a doc to be on safe side. If it is not growing larger that's a good sign, but if it's hard and not moveable that "could be" a more serious growth. Hard to say without an actual exam.

Cyst: Its probably a cyst. At some point, if it grows, causes problems, or you just don't like it, surgical removal ca be done. Usually an outpatient procedure with local anesthesia. You should have it looked at by your primary care provider on be sure. Hope this helps!
