Enlarged lymph node : Could be enlarged lymph node. You can develop these if you have any type of infection on that arm, ranging from torn cuticle or infected splinter to significant injury. A physician would need to exam you to be sure and likely you would have a blood test meauring your WBC count. ...Read more

What could cause the two small lumps in my armpit?

What could cause the two small lumps in my armpit?

Different options: That area has a lot of things in it both in the skin and below it. Sweat glands, hair follicles and skin cysts as well as lymph nodes, fatty tissue, vessels, tendons and other things. Is the lump growing, inflamed, painful, painless, draining, recurrent or constant, moveable or fixed...? Each of these (and many more) will provide your doc the answers as to what it is and what needs to be done. ...Read more

Why would I have a small lump under my right armpit? I'm a 28 yr old male.

Why would I have a small lump under my right armpit? I'm a 28 yr old male.

Possible Abscesses: It sounds like you may have some abscesses with or without cellulitis. You may need antibiotics and possible drainage of the abscesses if they are fully formed. In the meantime analgesia like paracetamol and ibuprofen will help but also running the area under hot water and soap as often as it is convenient should help. You should let a doctor take a look at it. ...Read more

I keep getting small lumps that are painful under my armpit skin. I had 1 first then next day 3 then next day 7!

Last night i noticed a small lump on my armpit, it irritates a little but doesn't bother me much, but should I be worried?

Skin or deep tissue?: Lumps in armpit skin are common and generally not a cause for immediate concern, as long as they are not growing. Cancerous lumps in the armpit tend to be deep to the skin. If you have one of those, i would make an appointment to see your doctor. You can then cancel your appointment if it goes away before your appointment comes around. ...Read more

Hi all, i noticed a lump under my left armpit about a week ago. It was small at first but has now grown to about 2-3cm and realy painful.

Abcess.: Sounds like you have a small abcess. Pain may be relieved by incision although it is by no means necessary. May use hot compresses several times a day until this "points" and ruptures on its own. The fact that pain is bad indicates that may be soon. It is remotely possible that this is a lymph node that has been very stimulated. Same treatment. See someone if not improving. ...Read more

I have a small hard, not painful lump in my right armpit. It has been there for a few years and occasionally gets painful for a few days. Answers?

Sebacious Cyst: Sebacious cysts can behave like this. Seek evaluation when it is in painful state. A condition called hidradenitis supporative can exist in the arm pits. It is sometimes exacerbated by the use of antiperspirants. The powdery character of these clogs ducts in the arm pit, and inflammation and infection can ensue. Warm moist compresses can sometimes help, as well as sticking to deodorants alone. ...Read more

Have a small round lump under my right armpit and hurts regardless if i touch it or not? What is it? Will it heal on its own? Its been there 2 days

Many possibilities: While i recommend that you see a doc to be checked, sometimes the glands in our armpits can become irritated, inflamed and/or infected. Sometimes we use antibiotics, warm compresses and sometimes you need to have them lanced. For definite treatment however your doc needs to see what he is dealing with. Good luck. ...Read more

Hi I was wondering if you could help me about a small white lump 2 millimetre in size under my right armpit. I can move it a little. Thanks Rob?

The whiteness: suggests there may be some associated pus or accumulation of white blood cells. This usually signals minor infection of a hair follicle, gland, or formation of a small cyst--in all likelihood a benign finding. Apply very warm, moist, clean wash cloth for 20 min 3+ times a day for several days. It should resolve. If persists and/or bothersome, see your Doctor. Good wishes:) ...Read more

I have had small painless lumps under my armpit, neck and back . Some I have tried to squeeze and out came a whitish, buttery oily stuff. What is it?

Epidermoid cyst: It sounds like epidermoid cyst. It is usually just bothersome but not dangerous/cancerous. They usually continue to recur. Consuming a diet low in carbs, milk and high in healthy fats (butter, olive oil. avocados, coconut) should help to reduce their size in a few months. Try warm soaks, application of tea tree oil. They may help too. ...Read more
