Lymphnode swelling: Most likely an inflamed lymph node but it could also be an abscess or most concerningly a breast lump. I'd advise seeing your doctor and having an ultrasound done asap. ...Read more

Many possibilities: While i recommend that you see a doc to be checked, sometimes the glands in our armpits can become irritated, inflamed and/or infected. Your doctor's right: Almost certainly. Leave it alone. I'm going to assume it's freely movable and not fixed to surrounding structures. Many people your age have these. If it's anything nasty, it would have declared itself. I trust you do not have a dominant breast lump or obvious illness that you're ignoring. ...Read more

Lymphadenopathy: The doctor examining you is in the best position to make these decisions. Lymph nodes enlarge when they are doing what they are there for, fighting inflammation, and have some characteristics that can only be assessed by examining them.
