Small Intestine Hernia Symptoms
I have had some test done and they told me my stomach is not emptying into the small intestine correctly, can this be caused by a hernia.?
The gastrointestinal tract starts at the mouth, travel down the tunnel (esophagus), which connects to the stomach, which then empties into the duodenum, jejunum, and ileum---the three parts of the small intestine (@25 feet). This empties into the colon or large intestine (about 5 feet), which then becomes the sigmoid colon, rectum and out the anus. So, every morsel eaten ...Read more
Does the air pumped into the colon also inflate the small intestine? What part of the intestine is likely to be involved in a inguinal hernia?
If there was hernia present in the testicle, wouldn't I be in pain? Wouldn't I feel pain in the abdomen if intestine goes through ab wall?
Not necessarily: You are likely describing an inguinal hernia, with bowel and fat contents herniating through abdomen into inguinal canal and sometimes into the scrotum. You may feel a bulge when performing heavy lifting, but typically a small hernia may not be painful at all. Extreme pain would only happen if the hernia twists on itself, which could cause bowel obstruction and a surgical emergency. ...Read more

What is a fat-containong lhernia with a knuckle of small bowel extending close to the margins of the hernia?
Hernia: Hernias move and can change position usually, unless the intestine is trapped. The fat and the bowel are a connected structure. Your imaging studies shows that bowel and fat are able to pass into a location where they don't belong, and this is by definition a hernia. Hernias that cause pain, or are trapped, need surgical repair. See your surgeon. ...Read more

Post operative pain: It is common to have incision pain after surgery. Pain in the groin can be also caused by nerve entrapment, and scar tissue that forms. Constipation following surgery can also lead to the groin pain that has developed. ...Read more

Some numbness common: It depends on what type of hernia repair you had done. It's not uncommon to have numbness around the incisions after surgery. Diastasis: This may not be a true hernia but instead may be a separation (diastasis) of the abdominal rectum muscle that is not apparent when you are supine.
