Small Head Baby Ultrasound
One possibility: It is possible. Sonography would show dilated ventricles if that were the case. ...Read more
An ultraound, also known as a sonogram, is a painless and relatively inexpensive imaging test that utilizes sound waves instead of ionizing radiation. There are no side effects. Ultrasound can give us two-dimensional, and in some applications three-dimensional, images of structures and organs in virtually any part of the body. In addition to diagnostic uses, such as evaluating abnormalities in the abdomen, pelvis, and breast, ultrasounds are commonly used to guide needle and catheter placement in a variety of surgical ...Read more
Head measurement: Was your child premature? If so there is a correction that can be made to more accurately determine appropriateness of head size. Was your baby small for gestational age? Has the head circumference been growing at a rate parallel to the isobars on the head circimference chart, wven though it may be below the 5th percentile. Speak to your pediatrician about these issues. ...Read more
Throughout pregnancy baby has measured small on ultrasound. Now 34 weeks measuring 60th percentile. Why might this be? Scared of having a large baby!
You and dad: Your baby's size is determined mostly by your and dads genetic codes and how they interact. Your baby's percentile means very little in the way of medical risk unless the percentile is at either end of the growth curve. Being 60th percentile means being right in the middle of the pack - this is good news ! I suggest you talk to your OB and ask them the same questions, it's important ! ...Read more
Placental cysts during pregnancy? It measures 6.6cm and my unborn baby girl is on the small side at 2 weeks behind
Ultrasound today showed baby right on track at 9 weeks. HB 163. Baby moving and growing like normal. Sac measures behind. Recheck in 1 week.
Is there a Question?: Sounds good. Wouldn't worry too much about the sac size at this point, wait for the re-check. Keep your appointment. ...Read more
Baby girl born yesterday 6pound and 12 inch head circumference. Is her head fine I was told during pregnancy that she might have microcephaly?
Head measures small: Her weight is right around the 5th percentile for a newborn but her head is well below the 3rd percentile. The first head measurement after birth is difficult to rely on as there are things like "molding" (shape changes) from passing through the birth canal to consider. This info has to be put into context with the help of your pediatrician. They are there to assist you, don't hesitate to ask quest ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Mass identified on ultrasound near intestines low/mid right side of abdomen. What would MRI show vs ultrasound? Had baby 12 weeks ago.
Lipoma: A Lipoma is a benign growth of fat cells. I do not understand the worry behind your numerous questions about this today. It is a benign growth, usually in the skin. That means it is not in any way associated with the uterus. If your lipoma is causing you pain you can easily have it removed surgically. But I do not see why you are so worried about this. Perhaps you should discuss with your OB. ...Read more

I'm 9wks pregnant. My 7wk ultrasound showed I have a small subchorionic hemorrhage. Does this mean I'll lose the baby?
Unlikely, but @ risk: A subchorionic hemorrhage/hematoma is a bleed between the pregnancy and the uterine wall. It is an US finding, that if coupled with vaginal bleeding, can potentially increase the risk of miscarriage/preterm delivery, but w/out vaginal bleeding, it's hard to say. Size matters; worse if bigger (covering ~50% of placental bed) or occurring later. It can heal itself, but you just have to wait/watch. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
12 weeks TWINS pregnant baby B looks normal with neck 1.8 .Baby A has stomach outside , swelling behind neck going for cvs ,how normal Baby B will be?
Risk of Twin Defects: 12 weeks is VERY early in the pregnancy and as such more subtle defects may not be apparent yet in Baby B. That having been said, however, there are no guarantees that Baby B WILL have defects similar to or because of the abnormalities in Baby A. Since there are so many variables you really need to consult with a maternal fetal medicine specialist for more detailed information and advice. ...Read more

My baby girl had a head circumference of 34.5 CM at birth, and now at 2 months she has a head circumference of 35.5 cm. Should I worried?

35 weeks pregnant.U/S shows cord around baby's neck.OBGYN said baby is fine and doesn't seem too concerned.Could cord strangle the baby before birth?
Ultrasound: First question, why US at 35 weeks? Have there been problems with pregnancy? This is not uncommon and not real risk for child at this point. Not much room in there at this point to move around. At delivery very common to find cord around neck. Usually very easy to deal with. I would not worry. Hope this helps. Good luck with rest of pregnancy (the hard part now at this phase) and the deliver ...Read more
