Can a large subchorionic hematoma flatten the gestational sac at 7 weeks?

Can a large subchorionic hematoma flatten the gestational sac at 7 weeks?

Depends: The hematoma may give the sac an unusual shape. Usually it does not . If there is a n unusual shape a follow up ultrasound and evaluation should be done within a week or right away if there is painful bleeding , or heavy bleeding. Nature will decide how successful the pregnanacy can turn out .There is nothing you can do to change the eventual outcome for the embryo. ...Read more

6w 4d pregnant with fetal pole, yolk sac ...heartbeat detectd...but seems gestational sac is irregular...sign of miscarriage?

6w 4d pregnant with fetal pole, yolk sac ...heartbeat detectd...but seems gestational sac is irregular...sign of miscarriage?

Don't worry: The most important thing is that the fetus has a heartbeat. Did they tell you an actual fetal heart rate? Sometimes the gestational sac looks different. There could be a nearby fibroid or subchorionic hemorrhage. Signs of a miscarriage are uterine cramping and bleeding. If you are not having those symptoms I would not worry about this. The sonogram can be repeated in 1-2 weeks. ...Read more

Not yet: These are approximate dates. There is a week error at this phase. And dates could be off as well. It is best to wait a week or two and also measure the blood for the hormone levels of HCG. Then you will have a better measure of how things are going. ...Read more

U/s at possibly 7w5d gestational sac and fetal pole measuring at 6w1d but no yolk sac or heartbeat. Miscarriage or miscalculation?

U/s at possibly 7w5d gestational sac and fetal pole measuring at 6w1d but no yolk sac or heartbeat. Miscarriage or miscalculation?

Dates could be off: I would not expect to see definite fetal heart activity at 6wk 1dy. A repeat ultrasound in one week will resolve the question. If the pregnancy is viable there should be appropriate interval growth and definite fetal heart activity. If not, then there had been an early fetal demise. In cases of blighted ovum a fetal pole does not develop. ...Read more

Gestational sac and tiny fetal pole seen on transvaginal ultrasound at 5w3d. However, no mention of the yolk sac. Note said early or abnormal preg. ?

Hard to say: It is normal to see a yolk sac at 5 1/2 weeks but often one does not see a fetal pole by then. I would not be concerned yet. I presume your doc plans to recheck this is in a week and he/she will have a better idea then. ...Read more

Gestational sac measuring 12.37mm and no yolk. Is this a blighten ovum?

Gestational sac measuring 12.37mm and no yolk. Is this a blighten ovum?

Blighted ovum: It could be...or it could just be a very early pregnancy. The best way to tell is by getting quantitative blood HCG tests 2-3 days apart. The HCG (pregnancy hormone) should double about every 2 days if the pregnancy is normal. Getting another ultrasound in 7 days would also show if the pregnancy is normal or not. ...Read more

Gestational sac only grew 3 mm in 10 days. Yolk sac visible; but no embryo seen (7 wks LMP).What are the chances that pregnancy is viable?

Pregnancy: If ytour dates are accurate, you should be able to see a fetal pole and heart beat by 7 weeks. The sac should grow about 1 mm per day. You should discuss these findings with you doctor, but the chance of viability is verly low. ...Read more

Bled whole pregnancy. At 7w(lmp) measured 6 weeks with small gestational sac. At 8w (lmp) measured 6w6d with sac at 4.5 weeks. HR 154. Miscarriage?

Bled whole pregnancy. At 7w(lmp) measured 6 weeks with small gestational sac. At 8w (lmp) measured 6w6d with sac at 4.5 weeks. HR 154. Miscarriage?

Not necessarily: Hi, Without seeing the ultrasounds it is a little confusing. At the first U/S, what was measuring 6wk?> the sac or the fetus, if they saw one. The second U/S would actually be reassuring; they measured a fetus at 6w6d (the difference from LMP would just mean your dates are off), but a fetal heart rate of 154 is reassuring. The continued bleeding is worrisome, but keep the faith! Good luck ...Read more

Anteverted, bulky gravid uterus, single intrauterine gestational sac 2.7 cm gestational age 6 weeks 6 days no fetal pole is this OK?or a miscarriage?

Blighted ovum: A gestational sac without a fetal with a gestational age of almost 7 weeks is most likely a blighted ovum (non development of the fetus). Most likely with result is a miscarriage. If not you may need a D&C. Follow up with your gynecologist in 1-2 weeks. ...Read more

First ultrasound 6w 3d only found gestational sac & yolk sac no fetal pole. Went after 2 weeks found same result but the sac measured 7w 6d miscarry?

Discuss with doctor : It would not be appropriate for us to make a definitive statement without all the information. I will say that a fetus should be visible in a gestational sac 7-8 weeks size. Ask your doctor if you have a blighted ovum. A blighted ovum is where the baby never forms. This can be treated with medication of a surgery called a D and C ...Read more
