Small Fat Containing Hernia
Depends but rare: Omentum inside the hernia sac is a low risk incarceration. In comparison if a loop of bowel were stuck/incarcerated in the hernia sac this can turn into ischemia bowel with perforation, very serious health risk. There have been cases where a tumor/cancer in the omentum is the lead point to hernia incarceration, a coincidence. Best to get checked by your doc, get the hernia repaired. Be well. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Stomach acid/lego: A plastic lego will not usually dissolve in stomach acid. If you swallowed a small lego and it did not choke you, then it probably passed into the stomach. It most likely will pass through your intestines and appear in your poop. If it does get stuck, you will have problems. Discuss this with your parents. Check your poop. Tell your parents what happened and tell them if you are having pain. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

May not lose: The 'j-pouch' refers to a loop of small bowel that is used to fashion a new rectum after removal of the colon. This can help to increase continence of stool as it acts as a storage reservoir like the actual rectum. This fact alone will not lead to weight loss, but the disease that caused it to happen (usually uc or crohn's), and the associated malabsorption, may help one to lose weight. ...Read more
Can you have stomach fat or lipo done at the time of hernia repair surgeries? Port site and incisional umbilical hernia?
Bad Idea: Incisional hernia repair is almost-always done with mesh. Mesh infections can be devastating complications. Increasing the incisions in the abdominal wall by liposuction could increase the risk of mesh infection. In contrast, an andominoplasty ("tummy tuck") can sometimes be combined with hernia repair. ...Read moreSee 4 more doctor answers

I looked up my abd US & it says (small break in the fascial plane suggesting a small hernia at the site with minimal omental fat herniation) serious??
Talk with your doc..: Refer this Q to your doctor since the marginal findings of US have to always correlate with clinical profile so to make a reasonable, not perfect, judgement since no test bears a 100% of accuracy and specificity. Besides, all life events always display on their pattern of full spectrum; therefore, it is hard to make a perfect diagnosis especially at their early almost non-discernable stage. ...Read more

Had 2 large ventral hernias repaired laproscopically. Double mesh 8x10 used in repair..2 large seromas formed. Having considerable pain 5 wks. Post op?
Hernia repair: Laparoscopic ventral hernia repair is actually a very painful procedure. Additionally, seromas are also very common, but usually reabsorb and are gone by 6 to 12 months. Any remaining fluid collection is usually not symptomatic and can typically be left alone. Sounds like you're progressing along a fairly typical postoperative course, but if you have any concerns, please don't hesitate to call your surgeon. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Results of CT abd/pelvis, 2 fatty inguinal hernias, fatty umbilical hernia and hiatal hernia. What are these & what is treatment and risks of treatmen?
Surgery if pain: If the inguinal (groin) hernias and umbilical hernia are causing you discomfort, they should be fixed. A hernia is a bulge of tissue through a defect. A hiatal hernia is where part of the stomach goes up past the diaphragm into the lower chest. There are different types. A surgeon would have to evaluate this to see if surgery is needed. He or she may also do an endoscopy (egd). ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
