Dr. Martin Raff answered:

How often do you need small pox vaccination?

Never

Smallpox_vaccine
Smallpox is a dead disease. It has been eradicated. Military personnel may be give Smallpox vaccine because of the fear that some nation storing the virus may use it as a biologic weapon. Other than that, forget about it.

Dr. Robert Kwok answered:

Are small red spots all over the body small pox?

No, not smallpox

All_over
Small pox has been eradicated, meaning it no longer exists in our daily lives. Rashes are difficult to describe in words. A primary care doctor or a dermatologist can examine a red spots rash to see what it might be. Sometimes rashes are related to medications, viral infections, or allergies. One should bring to the doctor a list of all medications used in the month before the rash appeared.

Do I need vaccination for measles, small pox and yellow fever to travel to India?

Maybe, no, and no

Yellow_fever
Measles still circulates in India so vaccination may be needed depending on your past vaccine history. Smallpox has been eradicated and there is no yellow fever in Asia.

If I was vaccinated against rabbies, small pox and tetanus in 1985 do I have to get it all re done now in 2013? Are there any other vaccines ?

Yes

Smallpox
Your profile says you are 28, you were a baby when these were done. You need boosters of your tetanus, which should be combined with diphtheria and pertussis (Tdap vaccine). You also need Hepatitis A & B, MMR, varicella if you never had natural chickenpox. Discuss meningitis vaccine and HPV vaccine with your doctor - you are a little old for these, but may be indicated. Why and what age of children cant be around someone who had a small pox shot my military son got a small pox shot and when he got it they told him if he had small children they couldnt give it to him

Back

Back in 2003, there was a question as to whether adults who lived with a child under 18 years of age could get vaccinated with the smallpox vaccine. The reason for this question was because it is not recommended that kids under 18 receive the vaccination - especially if younger than 1 year old. There was concern that if an adult in the household was vaccinated, that they could then transmit the virus to the child causing the complications they saw with kids getting the vaccine themselves. When they actually studied this, it was found not to be true. So the official Center for Disease Control statement is that people who live with children older than a year CAN be vaccinated for smallpox if they follow transmission precautions such as covering the vaccine site, wearing sleeves, and good hand washing any time they touch the site. If the adult cannot reliably follow these procedures, than many organizations will err on the side of caution and not give it. Many organizations also choose to not give the vaccine to adults who live with children younger than a year because of slightly higher complication rates in this age group, but there's no rule saying that it cannot be given. Last month i had a small pox, eventhough its over it leaves marks on my body especially on my face,is there is any cream/ointment to remove it??

Treat pox & scab

Open-uri20130421-7662-hs1d1q
As they say, stop picking! Leaves scabs alone and gently shower keeping these clean. Topical ointments and crams are usually not effective during the active phase. Avoid tobacco use and sun exposure. Once resolved keep wounds clean with mild cleanser such as cetaphil followed by ointment. Scars may be improved with a variety of options but cannot be improved.
