Possibly: Without knowing what else is going on it is difficult to diagnose. Since it occurred rapidly it is likely to be a lymph node reacting to some local inflammatory process, either in the oral cavity or surrounding areas. Really hard to say: Without seeing it or touching it. It could be a zit that is pressing on a nerve. It could be a mass. At any rate it sound like something you need to go to the doctor and have checked out. ...Read more

Minor infection>: It is likely a small Submandibular lymph node. The submandibular nodes drain from the lower lip, floor of the mouth and the tip of the lounge. Any minor infection recently could cause a temporary swelling and tenderness of these lymph nodes.
