Loss of appetite. Unusual tiredness weakness. Slow breathing. Slowness in reaction. Moody. Since I woke up this morning.
Help! Need to know if there's a mental issue or slowness that can cause a speech impediment, such as not being able to form words?
More info needed: That is a very general question. It depends on many factors, including the age and overall health of the patient, the nature of the symptoms, medications being taken, and many others. However, it is safe to say that the development of such a symptom where it previously did not exist warrants an evaluation with a primary care physician. ...Read more
Could be either/both: There is a lot of overlap between the symptoms of thyroid dysfunction and depression/anxiety. Many psychiatrists and primary care doctors will check thyroid blood tests before considering treating the mood issue. If thyroid is dysfunctional then treating the thyroid condition might improve or alleviate the depression/anxiety. ...Read more

There are other causes that any good general neurologist can ID. ...Read more

Can a food allergy cause mental slowness/confusion? I have new food allergies (IgE testing) and trying to make sense of it all. Thanks!
Not likely: Many people with no food allergy will produce antibody that reacts to the food allergy panel. Thus, these tests need to be interpreted by experts who treat food allergy daily. Skin testing is often more accurate, but ones history of symptoms that follow an ingestion is critical as well. Yes, dizziness/fogginess can occur with allergy, but is transient immediately following intake. Be well! ...Read more

Parkinson. Slowness movement, beginning state. 2 guide fr 2 doctors: 1st: sifrol 250; 2nd: trivastal 50mg, lioresal (baclofen) 10mg, artane 2mg. Which one better?
Critique: Trivastal, a newer Dopamine agonist, is not available in the usa, but might be a choice. Sifrol, pramipexole, is likely your safest and best starting drug. There is no role for lioresal, (baclofen) and Artane is literally "poison" and is not used in the usa. Choose the doc who recommended sifrol. ...Read more

I am 23, female. I have a slow trickling urine stream, feel not relieved sometimes. Happens in the morning and also during the day, no pain. Thanks?
Morning urination: Perhaps the reason that you urinate often in the morning is that you drink a lot fluids from once you wake up. When you urinate, is your urine light or dark? If it is light, then you are eliminating a dilute urine which is due to a lot of fluid intake. If you had a serious problem, you would urinate all day and have to get out of bed to urinate at night. See you physician for more info. ...Read more

Morning urination: Yes. For most people during the night their whole body metabolism continues producing wastes and recycling fluid so the bladder tends to fill up during the night. If it fills up too far, it actually wakes you up to get relief from the sense of pressure. Fortunately, most people don't have this problem, but just about everyone has a very strong urge to empty their bladder first thing in the morning. ...Read more
