Concerning

Blood
Muehrcke's lines of the nails are indicative of decrease protein synthesis. It is alo called leukonychia striata. With concomitant elevated bilirubin and hemturia, this can indicate conditions relating to liver or biliary conditions, metabolic stress, nephrotic condition, other systemic disease or malnutrition.

My bloodwork shows slightly elevated bilirubin but normal AST and ALT. What does this mean and should I worry?

Gilbert's syndrome

Bilirubin
This is a benign condition that requires no treatment characterized by mildly elevated bilirubin and otherwise normal liver function tests. The bilirubin can be higher with fasting which is why we often see it on routine blood work. It is not a disease and again requires no treatment.

Dr. Ed Friedlander answered:

Should I be concerned if my bilirubin in my liver has been elevated slightly for the past 3 and a half months, what could it mean?

Maybe

Bilirubin
If it is primarily conjugated bilirubin and this is your only abnormality, it's likely you have Gilbert's non-disease and should forget about it. I take it your physician isn't worried; you shouldn't be either. You may get checked for hemolysis with a reticulocyte count. If you're taking some medication and this is new, you may have Rx-induced cholestasis. Other possibilities exist.

Dr. Dan E. Fisher answered:

Sometimes my indirect bilirubin is slightly elevated and sometimes it's normal. Dr said it was Gilbert's... Does this sound right?

Yes.

Bilirubin
An isolated mild increase in indirect bili without other liver disease is likely Gilbert's.

Liver AST/ALT test was elevated, now they are normal; liver US was normal. Bilirubin is slightly elevated and I'm going for a GI consult. Causes?

Many possibilities

Ast
You may already know the answer by now, if you have seen the GI specialist. Elevated bilirubin may be side effect of drugs, excessive destruction of red cells, blockage to the flow of bile and more.

Got results of LFT test, ALT elevated at 130, previously 19. Bilirubin slightly up, all others normal. Not overweight, no alcohol/meds. Any ideas?

Liver enzymes

Enzyme
Elevated ALT indicates some degree of liver cellular inflammation. Since you are not on meds or alcohol, I would suggest checking your blood for viruses like hepatitis C, EBV, CMV. Also check an iron panel and get an ultrasound of your abdomen.
