Slight Wheezing When Exhaling
I have a wheeze when exhaling that won't go with inhalers. Peak flow is still normal, is this worrying? It's only a slight wheeze at the end of breath
I have a constant slight whistle with exhalation. One doctor said it was wheezing. But the other two said that it is not a wheeze and it is nothing?
Location is everythg: "Wheezing" is a very specific thing, from a doc's perspective. It is a sound created when small airways in the lungs become tight & produce a characteristic sound when you breathe. LOTS of things can cause breathing noise, but aren't "wheezing" in the textbook sense. Don't give up! . I suspect you have a slight obstruction in your throat or something. I'd X-ray your throat for starters. God bless! ...Read more

I have this wheezing sound and a slight tickling in my throat when I exhale, doctor listened to my lungs and said everything sounds normal?

Not normal: Wheezing is the sound made when air flow is forced through narrowed airways. Wheezing is a common symptom of asthma (small airways in the lungs). Wheezing can also come from narrowing with turbulent air flow through any other part of the airway. It is best to have wheezing evaluated even if it is mild. ...Read more
Airway obstruction: Wheezing is the musical sound created when air is rushing through a narrowed airway. When wheezing occurs on expiration, this is a very common symptom of asthma or copd. This may be accompanied by cough, shortness of breath or chest tightness if it is asthma. Less common causes of wheezing that are serious are heart failure, foreign body or tumors in the airway. ...Read more
If you have: Asthma you might wheeze as you exhale. It is like a spasm of your breathing tree in your lungs, the airways. Every time my pro air hfa inhaler gets weaker, I get a little wheeze that you can only hear when I'm in a quiet room (end of exhale). Why?
Return inhaler: Pro air hfa should deliver the same quality and quantity of albuterol with each actuaction until the counter reads zero. If you believe the inhaler is defective, return it to the pharmacy for a replacement. If you find that you are having symptoms that are not controlled, check with your doctor. ...Read more
I have wheezing when I exhale in the morning for the last 10 weeks but only when lying on left side, not sit or stand or climp stairs. Have HH 4cm?
Just a thought:
This sounds a bit like a local obstruction which is acting like a "ball valve" making "noise when you shift your position. ..a BRONCHIAL ADENOMA (benign growth) and sometimes an 'inhaled" foreign body (eg peanut) can produce this "ball valve" effect. Check this idea out with your PCP (primary Care Provider) Just a thought. Hope it helps

Been sick with a cold for over a week Now have a slight wheeze Not asmathic but does run in family?
Wheezy viral infectn: It is not uncommon for non asthmatics to develop a wheeze during a cold or chest infection. This should settle spontaneously with the resolution of the cold. It does not indicate development of asthma. ...Read more
I have been having a slight wheeze for d last 2 weeks due to my flu but I still do not wish to use my inhaler. Is it ok? Thanks!
Try the inhaler: Virus infections, like the flu, can trigger major problems for people with asthma and who need inhalers. If you have wheezing, it means the flu has made you closer to getting really sick. If the inhaler makes you better, you'll be more comfortable. I suggest you use it. If the wheeze, even slight, goes on for more than 10 days or so from the start, talk to your doctor about it. ...Read more

It's been suggested - not confirmed - that I may have Gastritis. I have mild SOB/wheezing-breathing, BUT with NO other symptoms. Think it's related?
Not necessarily: If your wheezing is periodic and associated while sleeping it could be related to aspiration symptoms associated with reflux esophagitis. However wheezing as a symptom can be due to cardiac or pulmonary issues as well. My suggestion would be to follow up with a doctor who can determine the etiology of your shortness of breath and wheezing. ...Read more

Steroids in infants: Steroids like Prednisolone are potent medications that can have significant side effects. 17, female tightness on right side of chest, no pain, slight cough. Non-smoker. No other symptoms apart from slight wheeze. Should I worry?
When I take a very deep breath and breath it out at the end of expelling I feel a catch almost like phlegm and a slight wheezing feeling. Any ideas?
Wheezing: With such a sparse history its hard to say much. If you are (or were) a smoker then you may have some mild (hopefully) emphysema. If you have had serious exposure to a dusty environment then you may have some damage to the small bronchioles of your lungs. Obviously, it concerns you so perhaps a visit to an internist or a pulmonologist is advisable. ...Read more
