Sleeping Wrong Causing Lumps In Neck
I have "maybe" a swollen lympnode in my neck can this be caused by sleeping wrong on my neck? Its located by my throat. I have no fever or illness.
Likely from dental: Not unique to develop a swollen node secondary to dental issues such as gingivitis or an occult tooth abscess. This is minor, but could be a sign of an emerging bigger problem. Easy things first: Try over the counter anti-inflammatory meds like ibuprofen, heat pack, icy-hot or ben gay. If that doesn't work, try a massage. Check pillow height: If too high a pillow, this can cause neck strain, especially when sleeping on the side. Blurred vision could be if tear film evaporates at night with eyes slightly open. Lymphadenitis or swollen lymph nodes is due to viral or bacterial infection. The swollen lymph nodes caused by cancer is not very common condition. I don't think that your case is any different. Possible a dental infection due to tooth abscess, gum abscess or combination of both. Rec.: see another physician or dentist for the second opinion.

The most common: Cause of a neck lump is an enlarged lymph node. Or, in the location you describe, an enlarged or swollen salivary gland. But the fact that it seems to be associated with pain in certain positions makes me wonder if you could just have a muscle strain with some associated inflammation and swelling.
