Gravity: Your fingers always get larger when you lie down as fluid redistributes. When you stand gravity pulls excess fluid in your body down into your legs. When you lay down that fluid then seeks out the new lowest part of your body. Part of the reason you swell may be due to the reason you are on a low sodium diet. ...Read more

Undetermined: At federal level - marijuana is still illegal. At state level - legalized in some, not so in others. Is Advanced Sleep Phase Syndrome life-treathing? In fact, this makes me FULLY awake during my classes but in the evening I have big problems...
Try to treat it: Currently ASPD is not known to be more life-threatening than, say, obstructive sleep apnea. ASPD patients usually fall asleep between 6-8pm & wake up before dawn. Treating ASPD with bright light therapy in the evenings or with chronotherapy would be the most healthful approach for you. See a sleep specialist. Http://www. Sleepassociation. Org/index. Php? My husband has a big appetite but every time he eats its almost like he's drugged. He has to go to sleep. Do you know why this could be happening?
Eating & Sleepiness: It is quite common for an individual to become sleepy after eating. The body diverts the blood flow to the digestive tract and signals the body to relax. It is not uncommon to fall asleep just after a meal. If one becomes habituated to this desire to sleep it can be quite powerful. Since there may be other reasons for excessive sleepiness after a meal, one should see their primary md for an eval. ...Read more
Not sure of question: I think the question is what to do about snoring (big sound during sleep)? Among other causes, snoring may be associated with sleep apnea, which occurs when one's tongue blocks the air passage during sleep. This is often seen in people who are overweight. Wgt loss might help, but mainly one needs to see doc for exam and possible referral to sleep med doc. For a proper diagnosis to be made. ...Read more
A big day ahead, a lot of work, and have to get some good sleep. Is it effective to take estazolam tablets?
In my opinion, no.: Estazolam or "prosom" is an fda approved hypnotic agent meaning it promotes sleep. It has a rather long half life so it is still likely to be having some effects the next morning. For this reason it is also used to treat anxiety and for the same reason you may not wish to choose this sleep aid. Sporadic use of another hypnotic with a shorter duration of action might serve you better. ...Read more

My five month old only will eat when he drowsy or sleep he has been on reflux medication for awhile and he doesn't have big appetite what could it be?
Normal feeding?: You mention reflux medication and I see on the profile "hydrochlorothiazide." I assume that's your medication and not your baby's. If he is breastfeeding or formula feeding well and is gaining weight, then there is no concern. I was not clear from your question if you meant he was not having a big appetite for solids or for his milk? ...Read more

Big: There is a significant relationship between insomnia and mental health. For those with both insomnia and a mood disorder, about a third developed the insomnia first.
