Hello. : Hello. This is being answered by a psychiatrist. I reviewed literature to provide this answer and am not an expert on the subject. The nuchal fold is fluid that collects under the skin of back of the baby's neck. In babies who have increased amounts of fluid there can be an association with chromsomal abnormalities.
