Skin Tears Easily
Why would normal skin become thin and tear easily? If I bump myself lightly, my skin rips and I bleed pretty heavily. Recently found out my pituitary gland has stopped working and am on 20 mg./day of hydrocortisone. But endocrinologist says skin tearing I
Easy bruising: As you age skin is thinner (less fat) so less protective effect on capillaries when there is even minor trauma. Alos medications like ASA, coumadin, (warfarin) blood thinners, fish oil, Vit E, ginko, ginger, steroids, estrogens make it easier to bleed or compromise the integrity of the skin. Conditions like liver disease, low platelets, vasculitis, B12, Vit K, zinc deficiency affect bleeding.
Tinea pedis: Tinea pedis is a fungal infection of the feet, common in people who wear closed shoes that trap moisture. It is characterized by flaking, cracking and peeling of the skin. This condition is treated with over the counter medications specifically for this purpose, and is prevented by keeping the feet dry and avoiding exposure from public showers, etc.
I'm a 60 year old female, my skin on my forearms is thin and it tears and bruises very easily, what might be the cause?
BRUISING SKIN: IF YOU TAKE MEDICATIONS, THOSE MAY BE THE CAUSE. PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR.
My skin on my lower arms bruise and tear really easily. It takes a long time to heal. What causes this?
I'm a 34 yr old ex smoker but my skin is real thin for my age. Can retin a (tretinoin) thicken my skin enough that it won't tear so easily or heal so slowly?
YouEatEnoughProtein?: Retin-A is more of an exfoliant;it gets the cells cranking faster (faster "turnover")so that it can supposedly "rejuvinate"itself. Supposedly, the lower layers will thicken. But I've noticed that there is a great deal of individual variations in response to that med. It's pretty powerful. It's supposed to help with wrinkles, like the fine ones from smoking, but you'll need a dermatologist to supervise
Several things: There are a variety of reasons: http://nell-rose. Hubpages. Com/hub/easy-bruising-and-thin-skin-the-causes-and-some-self-help-ideas.
Please see: Please see your dermatologist for evaluation and to discuss treatment options.
Thin: Thinner skin will bruise more easily. Blood thinners such as Coumadin (warfarin) or Aspirin will contribute. A poor nutritional state will also contribute. Nutritional supplements with bioflavenoids and pycnogenol with help with bruisavility and skin integrity. Protein supplements of Amino Acids amy also be necessary.
It could: A lot depends on the size of the baby, the size of the head, how far along you are, and the size of your vaginal opening. Also the presentation of the baby and the angle of the head. Many women tear, or a tear is created using an episiotomy to avoid further tearing. Mostly it's a small tear, but even large ones can be repaired. Your OB can better discuss your risk of tearing.
Usually won't heal: The meniscus is a 'shock absorber' made of cartilage that sits inside the knee. There is one on the inside and one on the outside of the knee. As opposed to your skin which has good blood supply to it, the meniscus has very poor blood supply. For this reason the meniscus usually does not heal. If you have a torn meniscus and pain you should see your local orthopedist to discuss options.
This does: NOT sound like usual "male pattern" baldness (From FRONTAL areas usually first! You should get it checked out by your PCP (Primary Care Provider) who may wish to refer you to a DERMATOLOGIST. Hope this is helpful Dr ZSee 1 more doctor answer
I love to use pore strips on the face to remove black heads. I use it every other day. Does the constant tearing off d face loosen the skin?
No, but: You should only use a pore strip once or twice per week. It can cause skin irritation as the strip will remove the top layer of skin cells.
I have a tear in my skin, the tear is between my butt a little from the top (lower back). I was told this is a fissure. How can this be stopped?
Control moisture: The fissure above your gluteal cleft sometimes forms from excessive moisture which then causes skin irritation and breakdown. Consider purchasing some type of barrier cream to protect that skin. An example would be diaper cream. Keeping that area dry for a few weeks might help. If not, please see your doctor
I was good, second later I had a migraine on left side of my head that brought me to tears. Never had one come out of nowhere before, is it normal?
In August of 2015 hit the back part of his head really hard and it is still hurting, to the point he wakes up in tears. He has white pimple things all?
It's hard to imagine: That one could have head trauma a year ago, still hurting to the point of tears, and not have had a neurological work up. Skull fracture, concussion, subdural hematoma, etc all should have been excluded by now. Head pain at this point now may not be related to original trauma. It almost sounds like condition now, with "white pimple things", might be shingles. Return to Doc for further eval.
My friends shoulders hurt when he reaches behind his back, head, and when he sleeps on his shoulders. Is it common for rotator tear in both shoulders?
Complex Joint: The shoulder is a complex joint, & many conditions/ injuries (rotator cuff injury, bursitits, tendonitis, labral pathology, impingement, etc) can cause pain/ weakness, especially when lifing the arm. Some injuries of the soulder occur due to acute injury and some are from overuse. I suggest he see an orthopedist for a complete exam. Http://drmarkgalland. Com/category/shoulder/.
