Wife had purple sac on scalp that resembled a skin tag and popped when squeezed. Could this have been cancer? Removed sac but nothing to show doctor

Keep a watch: Since this growth is gone now, you should keep a close watch for recurrence. If there is regrowth, then you need to show it to your doctor for considering a biopsy. It may or may not have been a tumor of some type. But all we can do now is wait and watch for anything new developing in that area. You/spouse/friend should check it once monthly for any new growth. ...Read more

Surveillance: Have somebody -- a partner, a physician, or whoever -- keep an eye on your skin and be familiar with the appearances of the common skin cancers. Get the suspicious ones off before they can hurt you. It's as simple as that. Worry accomplishes nothing. Death from skin cancer is basically 100% preventable if you stay alert. The skin tags aren't a factor and aren't sun-related. ...Read more
