What you suspect when a lady 49 nearing menopause has change in skin at junction of two labias with itch and minute sores, anti fungal does not help?
A few possibilities: If you have already tried antifungals (which is a great first try!), then I'm wondering if this may be thinning of your vulvar tissue from waning hormone levels. The sores could be mild atrophy combined with normal sex - be sure to use a lubricant! The itching still bothers me, so that may just be the healing process. The most I would suggest would be otc Hydrocortisone cream to ease irritation. ...Read more

Depends: If it doesn't appear infected, then I think it's okay to leave it in. The skin should heal.
