Skin Split Under Toes
I get a skin split under my toes often. It goes from one foot to the other. I have tried anti-fungus Which didn't help. What can I do to stop it.?
Split skin: On toes tends to be a problem with going barefoot. The skin gets very dry and cracks. It can also happen with feet that sweat a lot. With the wet dry cycle the skin gets macerated and then cracks. It is important to keep your feet clean and dry. Wear a different pair of shoes daily, alternating at least two. Powders may help, don't go barefoot often if that is the problem.
10 month old has split skin under baby toe. Under his little toe on one foot the skin is split, it's about 1/3" long cut. In the crease of the joint.?
Apply an antibiotic: Cream or ointment but make sure to put socks on so the baby somehow doesn't touch the medication.See 1 more doctor answer
Skin split: You may have a fissure and can be quite painful. If you are diabetic you need to see your podiatrist asap otherwise try some neosporin and bandaid but should see your local podiatrist anyway. You could get an infection.
Moisturizing lotion: Best is moisturizing lotion twice a day. If it doesn't work after 7-10 days see a foot specialist.See 1 more doctor answer
If it is caused by: A fungal infection, antifungal cream can help.
The skin under one toe has split open, usually happens to 1 of 6 toes always the 3 middle toes. There is calloused skin directly above the split, I'm sure it's from wearing flip flops and being barefoot. How do I help it heal faster?
Wear shoes: You've really provided your own answer. Wear shoes for a couple of months and keep your toes clean and dry. If the problem persists after that, see a doctor for professional advice.
What causes the skin behind the little toe to split? My 3 year old grandson is having this problem.
Keep dry and clean: Peeling and cracking of the skin between the toes can be due to several reasons; 1) sweaty feet with socks that let moisture linger 2) athletes' foot 3) eczema For the first, keep feet dry, use cotton socks and let shoes dry out. For the second using a fungal cream such as Tinactin (tolnaftate) can help. For the eczema, work with doctor to use hydrocortisone cream to heal and lotion that keeps moisture away.

Didn't see my 4 yr old in the floor and I ended up stepping on his heel and over extending my pinky toe, the skin under it has split. Any suggestions?
Toe Split..: The treatment will depend on the severity if the split. If the bleeding is uncontrollable, then to urgent care you go. If only a minor split, provide the basic first aid treatment. Clean first, apply a topical antibiotic and then dress the toe. As the days progress, watch for signs of infection. At first sign call your doctor for advice and possible antibiotics.
What causes spongiotic dermatitis and how should it be treated? I've had this for 8+yrs and no cure. Fingers, one toe and now palm skin splits-bleeds.
Pompholyx Eczema: Eczematous dermatitis represents an inflammatory response of the skin to many different external & internal stimulants. The cause of many forms of eczema is unknown & the diagnosis is often difficult. There are many different types of eczema. A dermatologist is recommended. Topical corticosteroids should be tried but they are unpredictable & improvement may be temporary.See 1 more doctor answer
No tdap shot also stepped by rusty stairs or rusty spots with cracked open split skin red that's hurts in between toe worry about tetanus?
I doubt it. ..: But maybe there are a few too many uncommon events for comfort: open skin, rusty spots, etc. The signs and symptoms of tetanus (lock jaw) are not pain where it entered but muscle spasms, jaw cramping, trouble swallowing etc. But I think a prompt doctor visit is warranted in any case for a brief exam and updating your tetanus vaccine at a minimum. Call today/now. Good wishes:)
Topical Substance: Apply topicial medications such as kerasol, over the counter, rub with an emory board or consult a podiatrist for prescription medication.
Bitten: You should see your family doctor for an exam.
What is commonly used to heal skin on my toes that's painful when it makes contact with something by tommorow?
Skin: Might try to get some non adhesive cushion products to try that quick. Skin doesn't heal in a day.
Some thoughts: A key point your doctor will want to know is if this is happening in both big toes or just one. If you're getting numbness in both toes, then you will likely be tested for things like diabetes, anemia, thyroid function, lead, and certain infections. If it's just happening in one toe, sometimes this can be caused by trauma or compression of a superficial nerve. Hope this helps!See 1 more doctor answer
Callus: Calluses are thick, hardened layers of skin that develop when your skin tries to protect itself against friction and pressure. They most often develop on the feet and toes or hands and fingers. If you're healthy, you need treatment for calluses only if they cause discomfort. For most people, simply eliminating the source of friction or pressure makes calluses disappear. Hope this helped :].
Babies: Babies have poor temperature regulation and cn feel cool
