Sounds like hives: What you're describing sounds most like hives (urticaria) which is an allergic reaction to something typically in the air, not something directly contacting the skin. It's difficult to say with confidence though without photos or further description. ...Read more

Dermatitis: Rashes under rings can be due to metal allergy (contact dermatitis), or an irritant effect from soaps trapped under the ring if not removed when doing dishes without gloves. Both causes can get secondarily infected, with germs, or yeast, giving much redness and tenderness. Remove the ring before dishwashing and get appropriate cream from a dermatologist. ...Read more

Possible: It's possibly infected with fungus or yeast. It's probably not a bacterial infection from your description. Apply topical lortisome (antifungal cream with hydrocortisone) and bandaid for one week. If skin feels worse or appears like its spreading, see a doctor. Hope that helps. ...Read more

Contact dermatitis: I think the problem is contact dermatitis. Something from the hand sanitizer reacted with the metal on your rings to create an irritative substance. Without seeing pictures, it will be hard to tell. Consider TTYD or using HealthTap Prime. In the mean time, avoid rings, use soap (not alcohol) cleaners, & use moisturizing cream - Lubriderm or similar. Also, wear gloves to protect your skin! Thanks. ...Read more
