Skin Rash Only At Night
My husband and I both have a rash all over. It's extremely itchy and keeps us up at at night. His doctor told him its dry skin. What could it be?
4mo boy has red irregular shapes rashes on face at night, disappear within one hour or so. Rashes not above skin. Don't see at day time. What are they?
They sound like they: Could be hives, which may be a reaction to something in his environment or something he is eating (if he is on solid foods). Has he been recently weaned from breast milk? Have him seen by his pediatrician, or if the rash isn't there at all during the day, try to take a photo and show it to his doctor. See your doctor: It looks like you have 2 problems, stomach pain and skin rashes. You might have acid reflux / gastritis or peptic ulcer diseases. You can try otc antacid or acid reduction meds like zantac (ranitidine) in the meantime but you need to be seen and evaluated to have it treated correctly. Dry skin?: At 14 weeks, there really are no skin related complications related specifically to the pregnancy. This sounds like something else. Pruritis: Itchy skin is notoriously worse at nighttime due to a lowering of our natural cortisol in the body. Rash on buttocks: Hello ~ have a Dr see the rash when its there because this sounds suspiciously like a herpes infection rash. If it is there is no need to be concerned, but we would advise how you can better not spread this and advise lots of washing of hands, and the rash is severe could be treated with Acyclovir or derivative or some 1% hydrocort for itch, or nothing. Prurititis: Itchiness with a rash is termed pruritis and can occur for no systemic reason at all. First attempt to treat it with an over-the-counter antihistamine such as zyrtec (cetirizine) (no decongestant needed) to see if taken regularly, your itching improves.
