Consider scabies: If both of you are itching, you should see your doctor who might do a skin scraping to see if you or your husband have scabies. Scabies is a mite that grows in the skin, and can be treated with prescription topical or oral medication. ...Read more

4mo boy has red irregular shapes rashes on face at night, disappear within one hour or so. Rashes not above skin. Don't see at day time. What are they?

They sound like they: Could be hives, which may be a reaction to something in his environment or something he is eating (if he is on solid foods). Has he been recently weaned from breast milk? Have him seen by his pediatrician, or if the rash isn't there at all during the day, try to take a photo and show it to his doctor. If you are on HealthTap Prime, you could do a consult with one of us. ...Read more

If it disappears: Completely overnight, you are probably reacting to something that you consume or come in contact with before you go to bed. You can try antihistamines such as Diphenhydramine otc. If it persists, consult a dermatologist. ...Read more

Stomach pain, acid stomach, brown and red itchy skin rashes, everytime I eat something with acid it will bother me at night during my sleep. Help!

See your doctor: It looks like you have 2 problems, stomach pain and skin rashes. You might have acid reflux / gastritis or peptic ulcer diseases. You can try otc antacid or acid reduction meds like zantac (ranitidine) in the meantime but you need to be seen and evaluated to have it treated correctly. Also it's almost impossible to know what your skin rashes might be if we don't see it. Your local doctor can help. ...Read more

Itchy skin all over body, worse at night, rash isn't that noticeable but itches like crazy & sometimes burns. What could it be?

Many possibilities: When the body itches all over, it implies that the itching/rash may be a reaction from an ingestion such as a medication or food, or an allergy to the environment, ie hayfever. Another possibility could be a skin infestation such as scabies. Reactions to things like fabrics or laundry detergent will usually spare certain parts of the body such as the head/scalp, hands and feet. ...Read more

14weeks pregnant. No infections/diseases. No rash. Itchy burning skin all over whole body. Gets especially bad at night. What could it be?

Dry skin?: At 14 weeks, there really are no skin related complications related specifically to the pregnancy. This sounds like something else. I would try things like: change laundry detergent, evening shower with moisturizing soap, and a humidifier in your room. Also, talk with your doctor! ...Read more

My legs itch so bad at night and I have not rash and I haven't walked through any grass or weeds. I want to rip the skin off. Help?

Pruritis: Itchy skin is notoriously worse at nighttime due to a lowering of our natural cortisol in the body. Best course of action is to start low and slow oral antihistamines and slowly increase the dose (s) until the itch is reduced or stopped. Hypoallergenic lotions/topical Benadryl (diphenhydramine) can also help. ...Read more

Rash on buttocks: Hello ~ have a Dr see the rash when its there because this sounds suspiciously like a herpes infection rash. Prurititis: Itchiness with a rash is termed pruritis and can occur for no systemic reason at all. First attempt to treat it with an over-the-counter antihistamine such as zyrtec (cetirizine) (no decongestant needed) to see if taken regularly, your itching improves. Sarna lotion is a non-steroidal lotion which can be used as well. If no sucess, see your dermatologist. He/she may need to check some labs. ...Read more
