I've had seb. dermatitis 2.5 yrs. and sometimes I itch scalp back and it bleeds. I fear skin cancer? I try not to itch, but sometimes can't help it.

Bugbite-like growth on scalp for 4 weeks. At first skin color, but now looks red inflamed. Symmetrical, clear borders, not bloody.Looks like one patch of eczema. Black hair, 28 yr male, no family history. Biopsy is pending. What type of skin cancer?

Possibly SSC or AK?: May not be cancer. Traditionally squamous cell cancer (SSC) was infrequent under age 40. But the incidence is increasing in this age range. The risk increases with use of Tanning booths and living in the Sun Belt. You lesion may be actinic keratosis(AK) ( a precursor to SSC), SSC or a non-cancerous skin condition.
