It depends.: The black eye and eyeball bleeding (likely subconjunctival hemorrhage) will vary in healing time depending on how much blood leaked out of your vessels during the trauma. It can look worse before it gets better. Applying warm compresses to the area to increase local blood flow can help. Make sure you get checked out by an eye md (ophthalmologist) to rule out any fractures or intraocular trauma. ...Read more

Not really.: It's common for skin to grow over sutures. It may make them a little more difficult to remove, and the area may have to be numbed up a bit in order to remove them, but it's nothing to be concerned about. You may wish to call your surgeon and ask if he/she wants to take the sutures out a bit sooner than planned. ...Read more
Any procedure for removing healed skin grown over your stitches due to it being left for too long?
Keloid?: If the stitches are still in place they must be removed. If the skin is a thick scar this is called keloid formation and is not so easily fixed. A dermatologist or plastic surgeon may be able to offer injections of different treatments into the scar. Surgical excision of the scar may result in an even larger scar. ...Read more

Can you use liquid bandage products on a 1/2 -1 inch cut on the top of the head? Or are stitches required?

I had a lower frenectomy and it is not healing. The area that the skin was removed from is not closing up. Should they have put stitches to help out?
Frenectomy problems: Your wound should heal in around 10 days, and it may look quite inflamed during this time, leading you to think it's "not healing'. Resorbable stitches (often a concern for patients who mistakenly think they cause pain) should be used as the procedure done correctly can make a large wound which must be closed. You need to discuss your concerns with your provider, better yet an oral surgeon. ...Read more
