Is there a connection between MRSA and sjogrens ? I have had sores in my nose twice and both times mrsa. Have high sjogrens antibodies &ai symptoms.

Second Opinion: Anti RO-SSA can be associated with more than ONE autoimmune diseases. Besides Sjorgen's, SLE (Lupus) or Cutaneous Lupus being other entities. Can cytoxan (cyclophosphamide) cause blood antibodies to not show in blood tests? My rheumatologist says yes so only a lip biopsy will show sjogrens. Have all symptoms.

Antibody test: Testing for antibodies isn't like counting sheep. We test for biological activities -- molecules attaching to a substrate. There's usually some measurable activity -- whether it's even one of the true ssa antibodies is moot. Everybody has bazillions of different antibodies in the blood at low levels for no obvious reason. Be glad of a negative anti-ssa and continue your workup. ...Read more
