Mole, not flat, size of pencil eraser removed 2 months ago. Biopsy was benign, noticed today a dark spot in middle of scar, could it be growing back?

Healing Scar: This is just part of the process of healing where you may see some dried up granulation tissue especially when it was cauterized or shaved superficially without the need for sutures. If it was suspected clinically to be cancerous, that mole should have been excised widely and deeply so sutures may have to be applied. ...Read more

Which drug likely to cause skin eruption (3bumps on leg size of pencil eraser) uribel (taking as needed and 150mg Neurontin (gabapentin) 1x day for 9 months now?

Which drug likely to cause skin eruption (3bumps on leg size of pencil eraser) uribel (taking as needed and 150mg Neurontin (gabapentin) 1x day for 9 months now?

Uribel & Gabapentin: Gabapentin would be more of the culprit than uribel though skin reactions are still much less common in general with gabapentin. Your skin eruptions are so very localized. I would expect to gabapentin to have caused a more diffuse skin reaction. Skin biopsy will give you more clarity. I would be surprised if your biopsy shows a direct link to gabapentin since you've been on it for 9 months. ...Read more

I have a small red mark, about the size of a pencil eraser touching my pupil. Its getting darker but staying the same size, anything to worry about?

I have a small red mark, about the size of a pencil eraser touching my pupil. Its getting darker but staying the same size, anything to worry about?

Probably not: If it looks like blood trapped under the clear cover of your eye, then it is likely a sub-conjunctival hemorrhage. That means a broken tiny blood vessel. It can happen after straining on the toilet, coughing hard or vomiting. It can also happen from being hit in the eye. It will last 3-4 weeks. If it doesn't hurt then you can wait 3-4 weeks to have it checked, if it doesn't go away. ...Read more

Excise changing mole: Any pigmented lesion that is larger than 6mm, changes color, itches, bleeds, has irregular borders with or without a personal or family history of melanoma should have the lesion biopsied. I had a red mark the size of a pencil eraser near my iris. It has now spread and gotten bigger. I can't get in to see my eye dr. Should I be worried?

Conjunctival hem.: If this is on the white of the eye, it is probably a subconjunctival hemorrhage, which is a usually spontaneous hemorrhage underneath the lining of the white of the eye. It is usually painless or only mildly irritated, and often is present upon awakening in the morning. Coughing, straining, rubbing can also cause this. They usually clear within a few days. See your doctor if you are not sure. ...Read more
