Size Of Fetus At 5 Weeks Pregnant
When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

I'm pregnant and my fetus should be at least 6 weeks but there s nothing on vaginal ultrasound but gestational sac with age of 5 weeks ?
dating: Everyone's fetus shows up at slightly different times. I would recommend a couple HCG levels to insure they are rising and repeat us in 2 weeks. ...Read more
? Dating Criteria: 4mm is more common for about 4'6 to 5' but could be normal at 5'4. It's certainly not far off. The ? Though is how were the dates defined and how accurate are they? Only time will tell. Know it's hard to wait. Best of luck. ...Read more
Vaginal ultrasound did not detect heartbeat at 6 weeks 4 days. Seen the sac and embryo. Risk of miscarriage?
50/50: At this point i would say your chances are about 50/50. A vaginal sonogram at 6 weeks and 4 days can usually see a heartbeat; but if your dates are off a little, it could be too early. As long as you aren't having a lot of pain or heavy bleeding, waiting a week and rechecking the sonogram is probably best. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
1st ultrasound, ~6 weeks 4days. Two amniotic sacs but difficulty viewing 2nd. One heartbeat for sure. What are the chances of viable twins still & how good are the chances of at least one viable baby?
What are the chances of miscarriage after seeing a heartbeat of 131 at 6 weeks 5 days when the embryo isn't growing properly only at 6 weeks 2 days?
Low: Actually a fetal pole measuring 6 weeks 2 days when you are 6 weeks 5 days pregnant is fine. Babies come in all sizes -plus or minus 5 days measurement (ahead or behind) is fine. Also not everyone has 28 day cycles and if you did not ovulate on day 14 of your cycle, dates may be measuring a little off. Were you told this was abnormal, because I do not think it is, unless i missing facts. ...Read more
Ultrasound at 7weeks 4days pregnant showed single live fetus and yolk sac with heartbeat of 171bpm.
What are the chances of miscarriage after this?
Same as everyone: The ultrasound findings you describe are normal. So you would have NO increased risk of a miscarriage based on the the study. Your risk would be related to other factors like prior history of miscarriage. If you are concerned about miscarriage, speak with your Obstetrician. ...Read more
What causes a subchorionic hemorrhage? Started at 13 weeks and lost baby at 16 weeks. Passed large clots at 15 weeks & 10 hours before miscarriage
That can be difficul: To say. A placental abruption is what this is called when it happens later in pregnancy, usually due to trauma. Your loss is classified as a miscarriage though it did happen later than usual. The bleeding can be like a chain reaction, blood, cramping then more tearing away. There is a good chance u will be fine with the next pregnancy but review this with your doctor. There may not b a gd answ. ...Read more

Progesterone level 19(down from 31 at week 4) and 58000 h at 7 weeks of pregnancy. Yolk sac and fetal pole found on u/s, no heartbeat. Stilll viable?
Bled whole pregnancy. At 7w(lmp) measured 6 weeks with small gestational sac. At 8w (lmp) measured 6w6d with sac at 4.5 weeks. HR 154. Miscarriage?
Not necessarily: Hi, Without seeing the ultrasounds it is a little confusing. At the first U/S, what was measuring 6wk?> the sac or the fetus, if they saw one. The second U/S would actually be reassuring; they measured a fetus at 6w6d (the difference from LMP would just mean your dates are off), but a fetal heart rate of 154 is reassuring. The continued bleeding is worrisome, but keep the faith! Good luck ...Read more
Bleeding whole pregnancy. At 7w I measured 6w and the gestational sac was small At 8 weeks 6w6d, the sac is 2 weeks behind. Heartbeat 154 Miscarriage?
Not necessarily: The sac is not 2 weeks behind, what you give is 1 week 1 day behind. This is 1 week's growth over 1 week. No one can say online whether your pregnancy is normal or not, but this looks likely normal to me if this was a spontaneous conception. The 154 heart rate is perfect. Stay calm and keep your upcoming visits, good luck. ...Read more
Twins pregancy at 22 weeks with cervix lenght of 2.2 cm and U Shape. What are the odd of miscarriage before 34 weeks and advises?
Odds are hard to get: Twin pregnancies always carry a risk of preterm labor and premature delivery which has been very difficult to estimate despite research on cervical length, uterine contraction monitoring, measurements of cervical f-fibronectin etc... Studies on prophylactic measures like bed rest, cervical cerclage, progesterone supplementation are also controversial. Consult a MFM doctor, specialist in twins. ...Read more
34 weeks pregnant today. Measuring "low amniotic fluid". Baby is measuring 5 pounds, likelihood of complications of delivered now? Induction? C-sec?
Depends: Depends on how low the AFI (amniotic fluid index) is and how compliant you are with NSTs. You should be resting on your left side, getting NSTs and maybe even biophysical profiles. If a smoker, stop immediately. Your fluid may rebound if you follow this plan. At 34 weeks there is about 5% chance of long term newborn complications and the c section risk depends again on how low the fluid is. ...Read more
Does the chance of miscarriage decrease at 8 weeks (6 weeks past conception) or only at 12 weeks?
Yes: A large portion of abnormal pregnancies will miscarry or stop growing by 8 weeks. Many of the rest will be lost by 12 weeks. ...Read more
Couple reasons: Normally at 6 weeks you should see a sac, a yolk sac, the fetal pole and an early heartbeat. When you dont see what you expect, there are 3 possibilities: the pregnancy is not quite as far as you think, the pregnancy is abnormal, or it is just hard to see on ultrasound. So i would just repeat in 1 week and know for sure! ...Read more
U/s at 6 wks 2 days showed yolk sac but no embryo and measurements of only 5.5 weeks. Used hcg trigger so exact dates- what are chances of viable baby?
Expect heart beat: With accurate dating, the ultrasound technology available and a skilled monographer a crown lump length should be measurable and a fetal heart beat demonstrable. If a transvaginal ultrasound in a week still does not show an embryo with a heart beat, I would be concerned that this is a non viable pregnancy. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Will microdiscectomy surgery at 3.5 weeks pregnant (pregnant but urine still shows negative) harm the fetus?
Im approx 5 weeks pregnant, my hCG -18500 and progesteron -103.But in ultrosonography doctor can't see fetus. Is it normal? How it should develope?
Unusual: Usually we can see an embryo once the HCG levels reach 10, 000. However we've learned that the discrimination zone can vary greatly with each pregnancy. I've seen pregnancies such as yours & not seen the fetus for another couple of weeks. If your HCG is rising, no bleeding or pain, be patient and follow up with your ob. It shouldn't be long if normal & your doc can determine this soon. Take care. ...Read more
I am 37.5 weeks pregnant. The hospital I went to shows no signs of a fetus. My hCG levels are normal and I have ultrasound pics from my doctor.?
???: Don't know what you mean "hospital shows no signs of a fetus". An ultrasound was done showing an empty uterus? "hcg levels are normal" - what does this mean? Hcg is not elevated, i.e., consistent with not being pregnant? If elevated, what's the level? Simply because you have sono pix from your doctor at some point doesn't mean you're still pregnant, but need more information. ...Read more

Safe to wait: Although the rise in the beta hcg is slower than we would normally expect, there is no reason you have to end the pregnancy. This is obviously a desired pregnancy, and waiting to see what happens is perfectly fine! It is true that you may end up having a miscarriage - but, maybe you won't. Medicine is not a perfect science. ...Read more

Time to quit: The most important thing now is that you stop drinking. I can tell you recognize this or you would not be asking. Chronic alcohol exposure in pregnancy can lead to fetal alcohol syndrome. If you feel you have a problem with alcoholism seek help. There are support groups in every city. Does the fetus double in size after 6 weeks of pregnancy, causing the u/s to be off my two weeks? Anytime after 6 weeks of pregnancy?
Yes and no: Here is a link to a chart of the crown rump length averages: http://www.Babycenter.Com/average-fetal-length-weight-chart as you can see, the crl can double about every 2 weeks. But this doesn't mean the u/s measurement can be off by 2 weeks. The error of the u/s measurement depends on when the u/s is done. Earlier has less error +/-3 days while end of pregnancy error can be very large +/- 2w. ...Read more

After the 6th or 7th week of pregnancy does the fetus double in size, causing the gestational age to be off?
Early pregnancy: The rate of growth of the fetus in the first trimester is very rapid. An ultrasound in the first trimester has only a 3-6 day error while later in pregnancy that error grows to 3 weeks. The gestational age is more accurate in early pregnancy and less likely to be off in the first trimester. ...Read more
