DID YOU ASK YOUR DOC: U should have good communication with your doc, cephalic is normal presentation for 20 weeks but at 20 weeks it doesn't matter what the position is since if it is not cephahlic will most likely end up cepahlic a 34-36 week us is usually done in the us to check position and growth and wt that is when u want the baby to be cephalic. ...Read more

It's the scanner: It is the skill of the scanner and their interpretations that make a difference and not the machine itself. Even a higher resolution scan for fetal abnormalities can show a problem, but the person interpreting the scan "misses it". ...Read more

Sort of: Yes, the measurements on average do correspond to these dates and they are fairly accurate, but not exact. Also it is dependent on how the ultrasound tech measures it. So there are plenty of sources of mild error. ...Read more

Yes and no: Here is a link to a chart of the crown rump length averages: http://www.Babycenter.Com/average-fetal-length-weight-chart as you can see, the crl can double about every 2 weeks. But this doesn't mean the u/s measurement can be off by 2 weeks. The error of the u/s measurement depends on when the u/s is done. Earlier has less error +/-3 days while end of pregnancy error can be very large +/- 2w. ...Read more
