Pregnancy (Definition)

When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

Pregnancy test: You may do a home pregnancy test. If the result is negative, you are not pregnant. if it is positive, repeat it a week later. Alternatively, you could get a blood HCG level that would be more informative. If you wish to have more immediate answer, you may ask your doctor to do an ultrasound examination. About 6 weeks pregnant. Spotting/bleeding for 2 weeks. Doctor says things look good though. Can I exercise or is this not advised?

About 6 weeks pregnant. Spotting/bleeding for 2 weeks. Doctor says things look good though. Can I exercise or is this not advised?

Depends: It depends on what your doctor says you can do. There is really no good study that says anything you do changes anything as far as miscarriage in the first trimester. I'm talking normal, everyday things. High impact aerobics, marathons, triathlons , stuff like that who knows. I would ask your doc and see what s/he wants you to do and go from there. ...Read more

I'm 6 weeks pregnant & started bleeding brown blood which turned light pink to red. I have slight cramps and very nervous i'm miscarrying. Is this normal?

Very possibly: No bleeding is truly normal with pregnancy. Some is less worrisome. Does require an immediate check up, labs and possibly an ultrasound. The labs confirm blood type and how far along pregnancy is. Ultrasound, if appropriate, looks for ectopic or other possibilities. Initial and repeat labs with pelvic and bed rest may be all that is needed. Does need attention! ...Read more

Now I'm 6 weeks pregnant. Red bleeding on 5 weeks. But now got lighter brown discharge always after pee. No cramp at all. Is this sound ok?

Now I'm 6 weeks pregnant. Red bleeding on 5 weeks. But now got lighter brown discharge always after pee. No cramp at all. Is this sound ok?

Yes: Half of all pregnancies have some bleeding in the first trimester. Of those, half go on to have perfectly normal babies. The other half do end up with miscarriages. The brown discharge is old blood and is what you would expect if the earlier bleeding has stopped. If you are having no cramping and the bleeding has stopped, this is a very good sign. Hope this helps. Best wishes to you and the baby. ...Read more

I am 6 weeks pregnant and began bleeding heavily this morning its bright red with dark clots I have no pain i went to the gp who just sent me home ans ?

Could be miscarriage: If you are early in your pregnancy and having heavy bleeding, i would be worried about miscarrying. Often times you will have cramps and bleeding. Is it heavy like a period? Do you have a follow up appointment? If you are soaking a pad in 30 - 60 min, you need to be seen in the er. Your OB or gp could order blood work to follow pregnancy hormones if there is a question about miscarriage. ...Read more

Am i miscarrying im 5/6 week pregnant i started bleeding yesterday morning im still bleeding but not as bad i went for a ultrasound and they could find a heart beat is it to early to hear one

6.5 - 7 weeks: Usually heart beat can be detected at 6.5 to 7 weeks. It's too early to tell right now about the bleeding. The worst part of health care and medicine is waiting and uncertainty. One of the hardest things in life is to be at peace with those things that you are emotionally invested with but cannot control. Wishing you the best of luck and that you will find comfort in these coming days. ...Read more

Hi i was six to seven week pregnant started bleeding but five weeks later still bleeding was red to start with clots and now its brown six weeks later?

Depends: It is not uncommon to spot or bleed during early pregnancy. The darker brown color usually indicates old blood not active bleeding. If you have not been evaluated, however, you should be.
