If someone has teeth that have been bad for years an have recurring tooth aches/abscesses can it cause sinus problem even brain and other disorders?  I have no insurance?

Yes, it is possible: A large enough oral infection that is left untreated or even a smaller infection in an immune compromised person can lead to complications that could cause death. Untreated oral infections, such as periodontal disease, have also been shown to increase the risk of heart attack and stroke in otherwise healthy people.

Congestion?: Neti pots can reduce congestion. Mix ¼ tsp salt w 1 cup lukewarm water. More salt can also be used. Place solution in neti pot. Tilt head & pour solution into 1 nostril. Blow nose lightly & spit out any liquid that drains into throat. Repeat on other side. This can be done in the evening before you go to bed & again in the morning. You can watch a video online to get the finer details down.

How do I know if I have sinus problem? What are the symptoms?

How do I know if I have sinus problem? What are the symptoms?

Sinus problems: Sinusitis often presents with pressure/pain in sinus areas (below & between eyes, forehead), may cause referred pain to back of head, may cause pain/pressure on upper teeth. If sinus drainage passages are swollen shut, pain worsens; fever may ensue. Opening passages with decongestant may allow thick, yellow-green discharge to be blown out.

Is Neti Pot effective at treating sinus problems that contribute to teeth pain?

Is Neti Pot effective at treating sinus problems that contribute to teeth pain?

Possibly: If inflammation and fluid in the sinuses are the cause of the tooth pain, then anything which relieves these will help with the tooth pain. If the netipot treatment seems to help, then, yes. If not, then see your md.

My sinus problem never persist even after my nasal opetation. I have to rely on oral medication for certain time. What is the best cure?

My sinus problem never persist even after my nasal opetation. I have to rely on oral medication for certain time. What is the best cure?

It depends: From what I gather, you still have sinus problems after sinus surgery. Very broadly, persistent allergies, smoking, possible need for revision surgery, problems with the immune system, ongoing exposure to germs (e.g. Kindergarten teachers), and a tendency for sinus polyps to regrow are possibilities. Rarely is surgery a total "cure, " so it is important to follow up or maybe get a second opinion.

What to do if I have a history of sinus problem and I will be travelling to nepal soon. Any tips to prevent mountain sickness?

Mountain Sickness: Sinus issues generally do not relate to the onset of Acute Mountain Sickness or AMS. Diamox (acetazolamide) 125mg twice a day two days prior to altitude then three more days is considered a drug of choice to prevent AMS. Consider also asking your physician for a prescription for Dexamethsone 4mg in case AMS symptoms occur.

What is the best solution for sinus problem?

Right Dx!: The best solution for a sinus problem is to make sure it really is a sinus infection rather than allergies, other types of headaches, or just nasal congestion. So a detailed history with a willing primary md, ent, or even allergist will start your path to getting the right treatment for your problems.
