Why do I have sinus pain in the back of my head?

Why do I have sinus pain in the back of my head?

You don't!: If you fire up your computer and call forth a picture of the various sinuses in your body you can see that they are located at the front half of your skull. The maxillary sinuses are behind your cheek bones. The frontal ones are above your eyes, the ethmoidals are above nose and the sphenoid is deep inside the nose below the pituitary. You will notice none at the back of head!!

I suffer from episodes of sinusitis. Symptoms last two months with head and sinus pain....No mucous but swelling...Constant swelling. Had fess little?

Allergy vs infection: First, try using a nasal saline was daily for several days. See an ear, nose, throat specialist who will look with a scope to see if there is truly inflammation. You may need an intranasal antihistamine or steroid. If symptoms persist after that, dr may suggest ct scan to look for chronic sinusitis, which could require antibiotics for one month.

I have sinus pain, feel very light headed and have facial pain on the sides of my face. What should I do?

Sinus or Allergy: There are several reasons for your symptoms but sounds like it's sinusitis which is an inflammation of your sinus cavity. If it gets severe enough you may need to go to the doctors for an antibiotic and proper diagnosis.

I'm having bad sinus pain for over a week. When I bend over, I get a burning sensation up my nose to my head. What is that and how to treat?

I'm having bad sinus pain for over a week. When I bend over, I get a burning sensation up my nose to my head. What is that and how to treat?

Acute Sinusitis: Acute sinusitis is associated with facial pressure, nasals congestion, fevers, and often sore throat or cough. If your symptoms have persisted longer than a week, or have gotten worse after you seemed to be improving you may need to be treated with antibiotics. Otherwise, I recommend Mucinex (guaifenesin) 1200mg 2x daily with a large glass of water. A tablespoon of honey works excellent for cough.

Can maxillary mucous retention cysts cause my head to feel unclear/stuffed-up/cloudy along with tinnitus and mild imbalance. There is no sinus pain.

Can maxillary mucous retention cysts cause my head to feel unclear/stuffed-up/cloudy along with tinnitus and mild imbalance. There is no sinus pain.

Probably not: Maxillary retention cysts are common, in some series up to 40% of individuals. In the vast majority of cases they are free of symptoms. When they cause problems there is usually a history of maxillary sinusitis, maxillary or dental discomfort, nasal congestion. It is unlikely that your symptoms are related.

Is it normal to get sinus pain, blocked nose and headache when really upset and crying? So bad head hurts next day but then gone.

Is it normal to get sinus pain, blocked nose and headache when really upset and crying? So bad head hurts next day but then gone.

Many ppl do.: Indeed. Emotions cause membranes to swell & block passages; tears run to nostrils and cause blowing, causing negative pressure in sinuses-voilĂ : pain. Not just big sinuses, but the honeycomb-like tiny chambers between the eyes can take hours to recover. Pseudoephedrine can help.

Hello it normal to have jaw ear head and sinus pain with a cold sore?

Hello it normal to have jaw ear head and sinus pain with a cold sore?

No: I would suspect separate causes. Pain/stress with jaw/sinus problem can be a trigger for viral activation and appearance of cold sore, but the jaw/sinus problems need to be evaluated to determine cause.

My dr says I have swollen sinuses. Can sinus pain hurt in my temples, jaw and back of the head. I have like a pressure feeling temples, cheeks& eyes?

My dr says I have swollen sinuses. Can sinus pain hurt in my temples, jaw and back of the head. I have like a pressure feeling temples, cheeks& eyes?

Yes.: Once the swelling goes down, the pain should improve. Swelling in the nose often causes clogged sensation in the ears as well. Using medication to make the nose better, like an antihistamine, decongestant, or a few days of afrin (oxymetazoline) may make both better.

I am having pain/tingling in right side of neck and head, right side of lymph node swollen, right ear and sinus pain. Any ideas?

See below: It could be infection or sometimes lymph nodes can swell as a result of malignancy. If the infection you reported has resolved, the lymph node swelling should resolves within two weeks. If it doesn't, you need to see your doctor.

Is it possible to have sinus pain in the back of the head? My ears and nose have recently cleared of the pressure, I can't get rid of this head pain!

No: Sinus pain usually occurs in the front of the head by the cheeks and forehead. A viral infection may be causing the headache. If your neck hurts you when you touch your chin to your chest then call your doctor - it could be a sign of a serious infection.

Left eye & left nostril very itchy. Head pain on same side. Sinus pain and pressure on left side also. Nostril consistently draining clear water like?

Left eye & left nostril very itchy. Head pain on same side. Sinus pain and pressure on left side also. Nostril consistently draining clear water like?

Sounds like sinus: Problem but occasionally migraines can act this way. You are pregnant and on steroids (for?) so you could be susceptible to certain types of infections. You can safely use saline nasal spray and a mild decongestant nasal spray if needed, inhale warmed humidified air (put towel over your head over sink), but see doc if you get any rash in your facial area, a fever, or drainage yellow/green.
