Sounds like a virus: Which virus would be extremely difficult if not impossible to determine, but make sure you get your influenza vaccine yearly. Hope this will clear up quickly and you will feel better.

Can sinus drainage cause loose stool and diarrhea?

Can sinus drainage cause loose stool and diarrhea?

It shouldn't: In theory, if you have a huge amount of mucus, that can pass through into your stool and cause diarrhea, but usually this is only seen in infants and children. But many viruses, such as adenovirus and enterovirus can cause runny nose (not a sinus infection) and loose stool, so something like this could account for your symptoms.

Mgt: There are several possible conditions which may be associated with these symptoms. I would suggest monitoring her temperature. If the temperature is 101 for higher, Tylenol may be used. A cool air mist humidifier may help to relieve the symptoms. If there is any distress or dehydration she should go to the ED. Nasal saline drops or mist are useful in relieving congestion.

Postnasal drip: Go and get seen by a doctor and have this diagnosed. As suggested earlier there are several potential sources for this and you need to have a full history and exam and perhaps some imaging studies. This cannot be done over the internet. Good luck.

Hemorrhoids??: You may have hemorrhoids or swelling of the anal tissue. Is the diarrhea chronic? This may be irritating the tissue and causing swelling. Hard to say for sure without an exam. See your doctor if needed ot if the diarrhea does not resolve soon.

I had diarrhea 1 month ago, my mensuration cycle became irregular and did I have bleeding but not enough discharge and coloyr of blood is brownish?

Not unusual: You can have menstrual irregularities due to many factors, altho doubt that diarrhea a month ago was implicated. If this continues and you find it disturbing, go see a gynecologist and be examined. Brown discharge may just signify old blood being discharged from the uterus. This happens occasionally. Not likely to be serious but if concerned go see a gynecologist and be examined.

This: This is likely due to a stomach virus/food poisoning. The symptoms usually resolve in about 7-10 days. If you have a high fever, blood or parasites in your stool you should see your doctor sooner. In the meantime maintain adequate hydration and eat a bland diet. Take care.
