A compound fracture means the skin is broken and the boner came out. If you suspect this you need antibiotics and it needs to be washed out by a medical provider as well as xrays for treatment of the fracture

It could be potentially very dangerous specially if the fracture is contaminated by outside material.it could get infected with severte consequences.Every open fracture should be cleaned,debrided if necessary and dressed.Antibiotics is an option depending upon the degree on contamination.
