Find and Fix Causes: High LDL levels may result from overproduction of LDL particles, decreased clearance of LDL particles, or both. In some cases common LDL lowering medications are not sufficient to control high LDL levels. Consideration should be given to identifyihng genetic causes (familial hypercholesterolemia), or acquired medical problems (thyroid, renal, liver, glucose related disorders) that could be present ...Read more

Can plexus slim be taken w seaweed nazacort echinachea opc grapeseed garlic Lipitor (atorvastatin) ginger omeprazole fish oil acetyllcartinine & glucosaminecondroit?

Probably: One of the problems with many supplements is that there is little research on safety and effectiveness. Plexus slim has many ingredients; I have reviewed them ; they are all safe and have no known interactions with the things you are taking. However, avoid plexus slim accelerator- it is hazardous! i believe anyone on Lipitor (atorvastatin) should take coq10. See http://bit.Ly/1jjpcpg ; http://bit.Ly/1era8lt. ...Read more

Sure: This s very serious. I wonder whether you have familial hypercholesterolemia. It kills people who use it, often at your age or a little later. Flax seed is unlikely to help more than a little bit. Best wishes. ...Read more

Can a niacin supplement replace vytorin (ezetimibe and simvastatin)?

Can a niacin supplement replace vytorin (ezetimibe and simvastatin)?

Niacin.: Supplementing with 2000-3000mg of flush free Niacin daily can help to control your cholesterol levels quite nicely, even increasing your HDL and converting your LDL to a less harmful subtype. As a negative, Niacin can cause facial flushing and redness so get the flush free variety. And have your liver enzyme values monitored, as they can be affected by Niacin use. Could replace Vytorin (ezetimibe and simvastatin). ...Read more

Peppermint oil for IBS- constipation? contraindicated with one of the following drugs ? Xanax, Seroquel, escitalopram, Lamotrigine? Same Question Aloe Vera juice...

I would avoid: the Peppermint oil. It may decrease how quickly the liver breaks down medications causing an increase in the effects and side effects of such medications. Two of the medicines you take--Xanax and escitalopram--are metabolized by the liver/cytochromne P450 and could be affected by Peppermint oil. Aloe Vera juice may be a little safer but it also affects the cytochrome P450 pathways. I would avoid. ...Read more
