Signs Of Pregnancy With Iud
I Have the paraguard iud, why am I freaking out about pregnancy when my boyfriend and I hugged while naked?
Anxiety: You are "freaking out" due to anxiety over having an unplanned pregnancy. Although the left half of your brain which is associated with logic "knows" that you can't get pregnant, the right half of your brain (creative/artistic side) is thinking, "What if?" Could the IUD fall out? Could sperm suddenly jump from his body into your uterus? In truth, anxiety is more complicated, but I am out of space ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more
Similar signs: If you have a Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud, there is a very small chance that you will become pregnant. However, if pregnancy does occur, signs and symptoms will be similar to those that you would get normally. These include nausea, vomiting, bloating, missed periods, breast tenderness, etc. If you think you may be pregnant, take a home pregnancy test. They are cheap, easy to perform, and reliable. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Need pregnancy test: If you had sexual intercourse with a fertile man, there is a real possibility that you may be pregnant. You may want to request a blood pregnancy test (Beta HCG level) and a pelvic sonogram ASAP in order to find out if you are (and where / how the pregnancy may be). ...Read more

C MD: If you are concerned about a possible ectopic pregnancy then you need to be checked immediately. Did they not do a pregnancy test before the ct scan? I'm 17 years old and I have had unpertected sex a few times but I have an iud but I'm showing signs of pregancy I already took a test could I be preg?
Possible: Check to make sure that you can feel the IUD string vaginally. If not schedule an appointment with your physician. Repeat the pregnancy test on your first morning urine at least one week after your missed period or two weeks after exposure. IUDs can be expelled and the patient can be unaware. If the IUD is in place it is still possible to conceive though very unlikely. ...Read more
I am 55. Dr. tried to remove my IUD (pregnancy is no longer a risk), but it is embedded. Any risk in leaving it in forever? It doesn't bother me.
Ok I am scared i might be pregnant and I have the meirana IUD in and I have been having symptoms of pregnancy but the home tests are reading neg!?
Neg test = not preg: Home pregnancy tests are very accurate. They are the same tests used in a doctors office. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. The best time to take one is when you miss your period. If you doubt the result you can repeat it in 1-2 days. If you were pregnant the hormone level would rise enough for detection. ...Read more
My IUD is still in and should have been removed about 6 months ago do I have a higher chance of pregnancy now? What can happen if I keep it in longer?
Maybe higher: IUD's will still protect from pregnancy past the time they are recommended for removal. However, after the recommended removal date, the effectiveness of the IUD may become less, as the copper or progesterone diminishes. An IUD is still quite effective for birth control without the copper or progesterone, but not quite as effective as with it. ...Read more
Hello, I've had a IUD for two and half years and suddenly been experiencing pregnancy symptoms that I've had in my prior pregnancy. I've bought two test and they both have come out Invalid. Is that normal?
Do over: Usually IUDs are quite effective but like everything in life sometimes they fail. I am not sure just what "invalid" means but the most accurate test for pregnancy is the blood test for beta chain HCG and it is + 5 days after implantation of the fertilized egg. Also, your IUD may have slipped and not be where it is supposed to be. Speak to your doc. ...Read more
