See your GYN: Infertility is often defined as the absence of pregnancy after a year's worth of active attempt at conception. Seems like you've been trying so it may be worth it to meet with a gynecologist to evaluate what the problem is. Maybe you're not having regular periods. Maybe you're not ovulating. Tubes blocked? Bad sperm? All possibilities. ...Read more
I'm a 36 year old woman pregnant with my first child. My first pregnancy ended in miscarriage - trisomy 23. Should I get a cvs test?
Talk with your OB: The risk for trisomy increases for women over age 35. A number of different chromosomal abnormalities - including different trisomies - can happen at any age. Most often, these cause severe problems and the pregnancy is lost. Rarely a trisomy or other chromosome problem is the result of a rearrangement that one parent silently carries. Be sure show your OB the test results from your miscarriage. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Check prolactin: Leaking milk is called galactorrhea and can be caused by an excess production of the hormone prolactin in the pituitary. A blood test will show if an elevated prolactin level is the cause of galactorrhea. Behind the excess of prolactin can be a benign tumor of the pituitary gland. ...Read more

I am a forty year old female who has not had her period for three months. I have taken two pregnancy tests, both are negative. Should i seek medical advice from a gyn.
Yes, : Yes, a gynecologist is a good place to start. She can run basic bloodwork to screen for the most common conditions that cause a woman to skip her period - perimenopause/menopause and thyroid dysfunction. There are also less common (but easy to test for) conditions such as a benign (non-cancerous) tumor in the pituitary gland that releases prolactin. A gyn doctor can also assess you for other perimenopausal symptoms, such as disrupted sleep, low libido, vaginal dryness, or hot flashes. If you are not having any of these other symptoms, you could give it one more month to see if you have a normal period before getting further evaluation. ...Read more
I'm 32 years old and 7 weeks pregnant. My CA125 is over than 1400, I don't know what it means, and really scared. Can this affect to my pregnancy? Or because of my pregnancy so this ca125 is high? Is it normal Ca125 is over than 1400 for a pregnant woman?
Why tested?: Are you sure it was a CA125 or did you mean BHCG? CA-125 is a blood test done to assess the risk for ovarian cancer in specific cases. It is not a typical test to be done during pregnancy. During pregnancy it does not correlate well to cancer risk because of hormonal changes. If this test was ordered then there is likely a specific reason. Contact the ordering physician to interpret the results. ...Read more

Here are some ...: It would be most practical to direct this Q to your gyn-obs doc because she/he knows more than others about your individual condition and most enables to offer you pertinent opinion and care.
