Im 19years old and have had all the signs of ovarian cancer. How could I have it so young?

?: Are you 19 or 31? Either way ovarian cancer is rare except in brca mutation carriers and even then is quite early. Not sure what you mean by "all the signs". Ovarian cancer seldom presents early, symptoms are usually a sign of advanced disease. I advise you visit your gyn and get a good examination. Hope it is nothing serious. ...Read more

What are the signs of ovarian cancer in a young teenager?

What are the signs of ovarian cancer in a young teenager?

Extreme rare: Ovarian cancer is so rare in teens that I hesitate to even say there are symptoms that are common to it, because it just never happens. If it did ever occur, symptoms would be similar to those of older women developing it. If you know of a teen having pelvic or abdominal symptoms of some sort, I would bet any amount of money it has a different cause than ovarian cancer and the should see doctor. ...Read more

I'm wondering why are single women more prone to ovarian cancer?

I'm wondering why are single women more prone to ovarian cancer?

Estrogen : One theory is that that, assuming they don't get pregnant, there is no real break from the sustained exposure to estrogen that is associated with the non-pregnant state. Again, the assumption here is that non-single (heterosexually married) women are pregnant or "more pregnant" (e.g. higher likelihood of pregnancy) than their counterparts. ...Read more

I m 61 of my younger sisters(5yrsyoungr) died from ovarian cancer, but my 2 older sistes are fine. What are my chances?

Increased b/c fam.hx: Because of your family history, i would say your chances of getting this are somewhat higher. About 5% of these have a familial element. The risk also increases with age after the 5th decade, and peaks in the 8th decade. If you were pregnant and used oral contraceptives, this reduces risk, but if you had no pregnancies, that is an increased risk. I advise close follow up with your doctor. ...Read more
