Im 3 days from my due date and I have been having very painful heartburn is it a sign of labor or not I have already lost my mucus plug?

Im 3 days from my due date and I have been having very painful heartburn is it a sign of labor or not I have already lost my mucus plug?

Could be both..: Labor or contractions typically cause cramping pain, often mid to lower abdomen, for a few minutes at a time, then eases up and the cycle repeats over and over until the baby is born. Heartburn or reflux often cause more constant pain and lasts much longer. It is not unreasonable to try some tums/pepcid, but being 3 days before due date, and loss of mucus plug, chance of labor is high. Good luck. ...Read more

Mucus plug: The mucus plug is usually dark green to brownish and the size of the palm of your hand. You're probably having some bloody show from last office exam. 39 weeks 5 days been 3 CM for 6 days and my mucus plug just came out. How soon do you think it'll be before labor comes and what can I do?

Cervical change: Being 3cm dilated but still not in labor is discouraging but not that uncommon. Some of the things that maybe noticed is that everything needs to be clean and in order, "nesting". You may notice increased pelvic pressure, increased vaginal secretions. The activity level of the baby may change slightly. How long after losing mucus plug do people usually go into labor? And can you go swimming after losing mucus plug? Asking for a friend.

Varies: Losing your mucus plug is a sign that early labor is approaching...This, however, could be within hours to 1-2 weeks. It is still okay for a pregnant woman to go swimming if she lost her mucus plug, as long as her bag has not ruptured (broke her water). She may lose more mucus plug in the pool, however, so for hygienic purposes, it may be best to avoid. Best wishes. ...Read more

Yes and yes: Cool that you got to see passage of your mucus plug! A lot of patients miss that special moment. Absolutely you can dilate without feeling it. How to induce labor? 38 +1 weeks, lost mucus plug.

Too early: At 38 weeks and at 48 years of age you should be undergoing fetal testing to ensure your baby has a good heart rate and enough fluid.
